Those terms sound similar in some ways since the connections among them have often been talked together. Race is defined as a group of people who have similar physical looking; it more tends to the genetic traits. Unlike, ethnicity tends to the cultural side, which means people with the same ethnicity will share common language and customs. As for nationality, it is like the boundary to differ countries. For example, athletes in Rio were chosen to represent their counties but not their races or ethnicities. Then a race can have many groups of ethnicities; people share the same nationality may not are the same race. Class in my opinion is a more complex term in society because usually I think people are categorized in different classes by their economic status and attribution done to the society. However, race was also the standard in the slavery history that black people were thought inferior, and it is still there in modern days as well as gender. Gender and sex are distinct. Sex is what a person born with, and it is determined by first sex characteristics, while gender is determined by self-awareness and works as a social identification. Usually, gender is one piece of necessary information written in ID.

Race is usually defined as populations or groups of people based on their physical characteristics. While an individual is externally classified by their race, they could identify with a certain racial group. On the other hand, ethnicity is a group of people who identify with each other, sharing a similar culture. For nationality, it is defined as "an ethnic group forming a part of one or more political nations", in other words, the status of an individual belonging to a nation. Class, as I view it, would be the economical status of an individual in a society. Yet, race could also be tied with determining an individual's status in a class, like those of minority races/ethnicity. The status of an individual's sex refers to the biological aspects a person is born with: chromosomes, internal and external sex organs, etc. while gender is certain characteristics that a society would determine as masculine or feminine. Now a days, more and more individuals cross the "unwritten" line that "separates" the preconceived notion of what makes a person feminine or masculine, such as drag queens, tom boys, etc...

The term race describes groups of people who have the same if not similar physical traits because of specific parts of they world in which them or they're family is from. Nationality is where a person has legal status in a country. A person nationality can be the county that they're born in or have citizenship in. When I think of class I think of social classes regarding different people who have different amounts of wealth. Gender are the specific qualities that contribute to what femininity and masculinity is. Sex can be a factor as to someone's gender. Sex contributes to gender because it is the biological anatomy of someone. Hormones, sexual organs are factors of sex. People can have a female biological anatomy, male biological anatomy, or both. A group of people who share the same culture, traditions, language, and dialects.

Race divides people into different groups according to those with similar physical traits like skin color. While race groups people based on physical characteristics, nationality groups people based on their nation of birth, and ethnicity groups people based on their cultural background. Class is a system which divides people based on their socioeconomic status. Differentiates the rich from the poor. Gender is determined by societal norms that may label you as a boy or a girl while sex is determined by your biological anatomy. People often use gender and sex interchangeably but that would be wrong. Gender refers the characteristics that are perceived to be masculine or feminine while sex is actually referring to male and female based on biological factors. All of these terms separate and categorize people into different groups.

Race is a term that refers to the phenotype or physical characteristics that is significance to certain culture.(for example your skin color, eye color, hair color etc.) It is how the people around you had perceive you by your appearance. On the other hand Ethnicity take more consideration of the culture factors, it is when the members within a population group identify with each other base on their cultural characteristics and common cultural heritage that they share. An example of that would be Arab, the member of this particular ethnic group share Arabic language, worshipped Muslim as well as other traditions. so this group of people identify with one another by ancestral origin, language and religion. Nationality of an individual is their legal citizenship in a country either by birth or naturalization. for instance i was born in china so my original nationality is citizen of People's republic of China but as my parents immigrate to United State and after passing the citizenship test my nationality changes to citizen of United State. When i Think of the Term Class i often think of the social class. individual regardless of their race, ethnicity or nationality can belongs to certain social class by having similar values, lifestyle and behaviors. it is more than the amount of income you earn that differentiate one class from another, it is about the school you decide to attend, the music that you enjoy , clothes you like to wear or the political views on certain issue that further define you to a specific class. Sex is refer to individuals biological and physiological characteristics. you are born as a male or female.
Gender is refers to the characteristic the society used to describe a person as masculine or feminine. it is how culture and society use their standard to consider you as male or female either by your behavior, attributes and activities. Some gender characteristic are for example in Japan women do most of the house work than men and in United State women earn less than men when doing the same job,and in job force Women are likely to hit the glass ceiling.

The term race is usually used to describe groups of people that have similar physical attributes. This may include skin color, hair color, and eye color. Race is a very broad term, as a person may be born into a race but identify with another.

Nationality, on the other hand, is a term that is used to state the specific country that you are from or identify with most. That may be the country that you were born in or a country that your parents/guardians are from.

Ethnicity to me is very similar to nationality, except that it is a little more open to your preference. You may identify more with one ethnicity over another and may choose to identify with that culture.

When I think of class, I think of status. To me, class is revolved around your socioeconomic status and who you know and what you do. We split up classes by income (low income class, middle class, high class). Depending on your income, you can choose to identify with a class.

Gender is a societal way of identifying a man and a women. There are gender roles that classify individuals as more masculine or feminine, and an individual can choose which they identify with most, though this generation is really removing the idea of preconceived gender roles which allows people to freely identify with whatever characteristics they feel comfortable with, regardless of those being of males/females.

Sex, I believe, is a way to identify a male and a female biologically (chromosomes, hormones, etc.) as opposed to gender which allows an individual to choose one to identify with.

1. Race - Race is a term that is used to describe how a group of people look solely on the outside. I feel that people who are grouped together just because of how similar their physical characteristics are seems unfair in society today and in the past. Even though they may have similar characteristics, it does not mean that they have same culture, social norm, or even the same background. Sometimes when I walk down the streets in New York City, strangers who are non-asian would assume that I am Chinese because of my characteristics and always say "ni hao" which makes me uncomfortable. Even though I will not have the courage to say it out loud to the stranger, thoughts like "What if I am not Chinese? What if I'm Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, or Malaysian? Would you still say "ni hao" to me?" would always come up in my head. The more I think about it, the more I feel that there is certainly no need for them to say "ni hao" regardless of what race I am because we are living in America, so why not just say a simple "hello" and continue on with their day?
2. Nationality - Nationality is a term used to describe which nation a person belongs to. No matter what race a person is, they may belong to a country that is completely on the other side of the spectrum. I was born in China and immigrated to Brooklyn, NY at the age of three. During that time, the law stated that if both my parents became citizens, then I would automatically become a citizen by default unlike today where no matter the age, no one gets through by default. Although I was born in China, through this citizenship my nationality went from being Chinese to American, which in my opinion is the hard work of our past ancestors who fought against discrimination.
3. Ethnicity - Ethnicity is a term used to describe a group of people who have the same culture. In my opinion, ethnicity can really be used to distinguish between races because it cuts a clear line between all cultures. These cultures may be similar but is never the same which makes every single culture unique on its own.
4. Class - Class is a term used to describe the status of a person or group in their society. To me, this is similar to a ranking system where every person is ranked according to their wealth or what position the family head holds in the government the majority of the time. The higher their rankings are, the more respect they will gain.
5. Gender - Gender is a term used to make a distinction between a male and a female. Whenever I hear the word "gender", gender inequality usually comes to my mind because of how my culture view men as the sole breadwinner and pride of the family. I remember one time when my grandma told me how she lost one of her own new-born female child because the hospital would not let her keep her since she already had a son. This was during the time when China still had the one child policy, this policy states that if your first born is a male then you cannot have another child but if your first born was a female, then you will have the chance to keep on having children until you finally have a male. Although this is unacceptable in the 21st century, the damage has been done and many life's were gone once out of the mothers womb. In my opinion, female and male are the same no matter how much they accomplish in their lifetime, we are after all human beings who will eventually die in the end, one gender cannot be superior than the gender.
6. Sex - Sex is a term used to categorize a female and males biological anatomy. This I feel is used to distinguish if you were born a female or male but in other cases, a person may have sex reassignment surgery and may change their sex to the opposite sex.

Race is a group of people that shares the same characteristics such as physical appearance. This is based on a person's skin color or distinctive traits (i.e. small eyes = asian) that can label a person into a specific race.

Nationality is the country of citizenship. This can change if a person chooses to move from their native country and attain citizenship in another. For example, I was born in the Philippines at that time my nationality was Filipino now that I became a citizen of the U.S. my nationality would be considered American. Nationality is the country where you oath your loyalty to.

Ethnicity is a group of people that shares the same culture, language and historical background. People of the same ethnicity don't necessarily have to be be born in the same country. For example, people migrate to other countries and make their own families in that country they moved in their children are still raised with their native language and culture therefore they still have the same ethnicity.

Class is a social structure that somewhat puts people in hierarchal system starting from the rich to the poor.

Race: Grouped/categorized based off physical features. There are many types of people in Asia. People would often ask me where I'm from or originated and expect me to reply with a name of some country in Asia. If I tell them I'm from America, they often ask, "but where are you actually from? Where are your parents from?" I find that this is because of our physical features that we lack in comparison, we don't look "white" so therefore, we're not from America. Those questions are not asked when the person is white, and sometimes for them, stating the state you're originally from is enough of an answer. Asians would always be outsiders in comparison regardless of what we do, because we're different, we're consider "exotic", we don't fit in. Also, people easily group all kinds of Asian as a whole. It's frustrating having people think Asians are submissive, and that we don't speak English. They would often greet us with "Konnichiwa", "Ni Hao". I'm not sure what they're trying to accomplish, but I do find it offensive.
Nationality: Defined by one's citizenship regardless of one's race/physical features. Even though I was born in China (having a Chinese name, and following my family's culture) because I've gotten my citizenship in America, I am American.
Ethnicity: Belonging to a certain group based off physical characteristics, culture, ancestors, traditions, etc.
Class: Social standing based off of certain factors such as income, neighborhood you live in, society, etc.
Gender: determined based off society's standards of whether you're more masculine or feminine. This does not necessarily associate with the sex you're born with. Recently there's a common phrase that people might have heard of: "Don't assume my gender", because there are certain activities/things that are associated with being more masculine or feminine. Ex: ballet is commonly associated with being more feminine, but it doesn't determine whether we are male or female.
Sex: biological makeup based off sexual organs which determines you as either female or male

Race- Race is a group of people who share similar physical characteristics. A lot of people tend to mix up the terms race and ethnicity a lot. But what I think is that race is a socially constructed concept. One is black because of not only where their family comes from, but from the way they act or dress. Same with white, Asian or Native American.
Nationality- Nationality focuses on more where person is born rather than their race or ethnicity.
Ethnicity- Ethnicity is the cultural aspect of a person. Where one's family comes from and all that comes with it. As someone who is ambiguously ethnic, I consider it to be one of the most confusing things about me. My maternal side of the family is from Nicaragua, a small Spanish-speaking country in Central America. My paternal side is from India. This "mix" usually elicits a lot amazement from people. Comments such as "I never knew Indians could marry outside of their group, especially with arranged marriages and all" or "Who knew such different groups could have attraction for each other." Sadly I've learned to nod my head, smile and move on with life. However these endearing comments not only make me want to roll my eyes, but I let it go and write off their ignorance for other cultures as a lack of knowledge. Many times when I tell someone I'm of Nicaraguan descent, the response that follows is somewhat like,"but you don't look it! Well now that I look it you do kinda look native america (my grandmother is from a Native American tribe in Nicaragua so it's understandable)." Another thing about being ambiguously ethnic is that you get to decide what you consider yourself as. In my case because I grew up more around Hispanic culture and fluent in Spanish, I consider myself Hispanic rather than Indian.
Class- Class can be considered ones socio-economic standing in society. Which is measured based on how financially stable, or not, compared to the people around you, and your social standing in relation to everyone else.
Gender- Gender is a concept that is socially constructed. What makes a boy a boy and a girl a girl is based off of social norms. For example, from the early 20th century to today, pink is for girls and blue is for boys. However as far back as the 18th century, it was swapped. Pink was for boys and blue was for girls. Boys even wore dresses in the 18th century.
Sex- Sex is all biological, it's what you were born with. A male is a male because he has male sex organs and a female is a female because she has female sex organs. It cannot be changed. However in today's society, especially with advancements in medicine, it might be possible. There are sex-changing surgeries which can correct a person's sex organs if they are experiencing some type of inversion.
