While I understand the reason for this I struggle with it too. Too often I see students who are clearly not academically ready to move forward and yet we just move them along because of this theory. This sets them up for becoming even further behind at the next level. When does the cycle end?

This is so sad! In our current system our kids are exposed to high stakes testing at very young ages and developmentally we know it's not appropriate for them! Ugg!
