Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Stanton realized that women didn't have the same rights as men when they attended the World Antislavery Convention in 1840.They were not allowed to speak about slavery simply because they are women. They were also to give up their wages to their husbands and could not vote. This sparked the Declaration of Sentiments, which was attacking the Declaration of Independence. But what really made women earn their rights was the Seneca Falls Convention.Abolitionists like Douglass,Truth and the Grimke sisters were part of the convention.Slowly, women started earning their rights and it took 80 years to gain the right to vote.
