In this book, which is chilling and misterious, we present the following main characters: Arthur Kipps, the young solicitor of the Drablow's family case. Alice Drablow was the sister of the woman in black, the Jennet Humfrye ghost, who give her baby Nathaniel to Alice whether Jennet like it or not. Charles Drablow was the husband of Alice. Nicholas Daily, also affected by the woman, advise to Arthur of the tragic moments in the Eel Marsh House and the marshes. Finally, I would add Spider, the Daily's dog, who is the Arthur accompanying at the last days around the marshes, nearly drowned.
This story was setting in England, London and it all started in a house where Arthur was going to share with the children a terror history, or better said, him terror story. The story was narrated by the young solicitor who is in charge of read the Mrs. Drablow papers in the Eel Marsh House, where strange things are going on. Arthur listened the sound of a mysterious carriage from the marshes, also a kid crying, noises from everywhere and all of this make him sad and crazy. He left the house because he was scared, and he wanted to tell to him senior what happen in these house, but the senior ignore him. A days later he return to the house to solve the mystery, but now with Spider. He saw the darkness in the woman in black eyes and how the Nathaniel room was messy, but nobody did anything. Sometimes he felt the woman in black around him body and the sense left him torn apart. He knew she was there. He decided left the house and saw the Mr Drablow papers in the Daily's house, good and safe.
The conflict of Arthur was find out all about the woman in black and why she is not resting in peace.
The resolution was terrible. After a long and happy time, the Arthur's wife, Stella and their son suffered an accident. The ghost appeared in front of the ponny, the animal got scared and the carriage where they were riding, was crashed. Their son was dead because of the woman in black, and then she disappeared.
The book was very good, because the resolution leaves a nasty taste in my mouth.
I have read the Cristina's summary and in my opinion, Ghandi appear a good book to read and many things to learn, is very well writted and structured. I like too much the last phrase she put at the end.

MICHELLE
Good work Andrea.
MARKS: 7/10

Mahatma Gandhi was an indian lawyer, thinker and political of the XIX and XX century, mainly known for claim and take the independence of India through non-violence.
He was born in Porbandar on October in 1869. His mum was a very important influence for him because he learnt the respect to others living beings and respect for other people´s opinion. When he was eighteen years old, he moved house to London to study law in the University College London. Then he returned to Bombay to work like lawyer without success. But he went to Sudafrica excited for the fight with non-violence
against the discrimination of hindu people. That´s why Gandhi created an indian political party which defend their rights. Gandhi solved the conflict with the South African leader. In 1915 he returned to India where he was declaring his values and after years of fights, India obtained the independence and a few months later, Gandhi was a murder victim by Nathuram Godse, who was an extreme-right related with the government in 1948. His death was a historical fact.

In my opinion the Mario's summary is a good vision of the book because he has written all the important things of the story. Then his father dead, he decided to study law in England. After his studies he came back to practise law in Bombay but he wasn´t success and he decided to went to Natal, South Africa, where he could see the differents between the people white and Africans or Indians and realised that he should fight in order to put out the injustice. So he decided to created a political party to eliminate the inequality and defend the Hindu´s rights.

When Nicola Ferris arrives outside the Cretan village of Agios Georgios one day before to start her holiday, she doesn´t
expects to land in the middle of murder. However any time at all passes between stashing her luggage by the bridge into the village and being confronted by the knife-wielding Lambis on the hill above the village Nicola soon discovers, however, Lambis is not the cut-throat bandit she fears; he is protecting Mark Langley, an innocent British tourist who watched the murder of an unknown man, and who was injured when shot at by the killers. Mark is frantic to begin searching for his younger brother, Colin, who he hasn't seen since the night of the murder, but he can't do it until he obtains enough energy to move. Once he finds Colin, he will be content to return to Lambis’ boat and hand the entire affair over to the authorities. But where is Colin? Is he even alive? When Nicola finally makes her check in the hotel in Agios Georgios to meet her cousin Francis and resume her holiday, it is with firm instructions from Mark to forget the whole incident and enjoy her vacation.

The principal character of the book is Gandhi who was an important thinker and politician, he has gone down in history as a great pacifist. Gandhi was born in Porbandar (India), he married very young, he was very influencied by his parents, and he went to London so as to study law, but his first experience being a lawyer wasn't successful.

In the place where he lived, in India, there was a lot of racism and discrimination, so he created the Natal Indian Congress whose aim was fighting for just laws. He took part in the Boar War as a member of the Ambulance Corps. In 1915, he returned to India, as a popular hero, where he continued promulgating his religious and moral values. An important information is the fact that he was sent to prison, but released early beacause of an illness. Gandhi started a campaign to avoid the salt tax, because of that, he met many admires. During the Second World War, Gandhi demanded the independence of India, which was granted in 1947. He was assesinated by a hindu extremist who was against peaceful relations with muslims. I believe that he had a tragic death because he tried to avoid the violence between hindus and muslims, furthermore he fighted for the equality of human beings.

Nowadays, Gandhi continues being in our hearts, so his soul hasn’t died.

I have just read Andrea´s summary, I think it´s great because she has explained the synopsis with details.
