They had a child pass away last year from cancer which made this school band together like I have never seen. This left her class hysterical about their teacher. What I noticed is that the day turned from a regular day to a more comforting fun day really fast. This involved students comforting each other and teachers Face timing the one who had fallen to comfort her class as well. So I was working with a child who is VERY sensitive to sound. As we walked in from recess I was informed there was going to be a fire drill. So I thought to myself do I go ahead and get the headphones out- no I will not. What good will that do him. So I pulled him aside and went over procedures and coping mechanisms for fire drills. I was expecting screaming freaking out and crying, to my surprise once the alarms went off he got in line and went on out. These kids are amazing and can do anything. Each center was different to fit the needs of every kind of learner in there.
