Born on June 14, 1928,  in Rosario, Argentina, Ernesto Guevara de la Serna was a theoretician and tactician of guerrilla warfare, a prominent communist figure in the Cuban Revolution , and a guerrilla leader in South America. After his execution by the Bolivian army, on October 9, 1967, he was regarded as a martyred hero by generations of leftists worldwide, and his image became an icon of leftist radicalism and anti-imperialism.

Role in the Cuban revolution:
In the last years of the 1950s, he played a prominent role in the guerrilla struggle initiated by Fidel Castro against the Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista, joining what was known as the '26th of July Movement', which landed a force of 81 men (including Guevara) in the Cuban province of Oriente on December 2, 1956. 
Although Guevara was initially  only the force’s doctor, he had also trained in weapons use, and  became one of Castro’s most-trusted aides. Indeed, he sometimes acted as the executioner, or ordered the execution, of suspected traitors and deserters to the revolutionary army.
After Castro’s victorious troops entered Havana on January 8, 1959, Guevara oversaw the executions of individuals deemed to be enemies of the revolution, at 'La Cabaña' prison. He then became a Cuban citizen, due to his important role in the newly established Marxist government as he had been in the revolutionary army, representing Cuba on many commercial missions. Guevara also became well known for his opposition to all forms of imperialism and neocolonialism and for his attacks on U.S. foreign policy. 
He served as chief of the Industrial Department of the National Institute of Agrarian Reform, president of the National Bank of Cuba where he openly showed his disdain for capitalism.

He was a soldier and a political leader. On the second time he ruled in Cuba by using terrorist methods and taking advantage of his position to make money for himself. He had a lot of jobs before joining the army. On 1933 he created the sergeants revolt, this lead him to becoming Cubas` leader. Eventhough he used the country for his own good, he also helped it by expanding the educational system. In 1944 when his presidency ended, he moved to Florida and invested the money he took with him from Cuba. The second time he ruled, Fulgencio took control of the univerisities, the press and he congress. 
Role: he was known for being the one to make and unmake the Cuban presidents together with Zaldívar.

He established the first socialist state in America. 1976, he was elected president of the Council of State and the Council of Ministers. Fidel Castro and an associated group of revolutionaries toppled the ruling government of Fulgencio Batista, forcing Batista out of power. From the very beginning of the Cuban Revolution, he directed and  participated in all the actions undertaken in defense of the country and the country Revolution in cases of military aggressions coming from abroad or activities of counterrevolutionary gangs inside the country, especially the defeat of the invasion organized by the defeat of the Central Intelligence Agency of the United States
