Line 46 stood out to mean. Line 46 starts with, "They dove dark nails into me...". The tree felt the same pain Christ felt. He knows all the pain Christ went through and he knows that. Line 46 goes on to explains that he still have the marks for when they hurt Christ. That tree is to represent us as humans. We can sometimes relate to people and feel the pain other people go through. Those nails can represent people who hurt in life, bad experiences, and tough challenges.

Line 48 states, "They mocked us both." The tree feels as though they mocked him and Christ. When I reflected on this it is like when people talk bad about me or say mean things it mock me a person and intelligence. That person is like that "nail" that hurts me. After those "nails" are removed we are left with scars. As life goes on we learn to accept those scars.

In the movie "Guardians of the Galaxies" , one of the last scene is Groot protecting the other other Guardians from a deadly fall. We thought Groot was dead but, he became a smaller Groot. To me this means that it's okay to let your scars show. The scars also show that you are wiser. It is also a quiescence that Groot is also a tree.

The whole poem plays against the role of society back then as the female taking on the leadership role. One of the homework questions that was asked how Judith takes the traditional role and non-traditional role. This question stood out to me because she took on both roles. As a female she is caring. She cares about God and her people. As in a male role, she is the breadwinner. She literally brings back the lord's head to show her people.

On the way there he figures out her beautiful she is and falls in love with her. He is even his protector. He also scares her sometime throughout the movie. It's ironic how Shrek is green. He is green like the Green Knight.

Another thing that stands out about this movie is Princess Fiona. She hold her ground the whole movie. Not only does Shrek teaches her things she teaches Shrek things too. She does not want to fall in love with Shrek, but she lets loves win. She is confused about love and fearful of love.

The number one thing that attacks me to this sonnet that it is written by a woman. Many Women during this time period did not write. Just her being a woman is powerful. Her voice is actually being heard through her writing. this is powerful because she was in a society where women did not have a voice.

She explains throughout the sonnet that she is scared of love. In line 2 she states, "That to withstand, which joys ruin me?". She is saying that she has lost the power to withstand love while it takes pleasure in ruining her. In line 5 she states, "Love first shall leave men's fancies to them free...". She is saying the other impossibilities that will follow will occur before she surrenders to love. Those two lines show how she was fearful of love, but let love wins.

The Sonnet starts off about how she does not know what path to take. She states in line 1&2, "In this strange labyrinth how shall I turn? Ways are on all sides, while the way I miss." She does not know what path to take. Should choose love or not.

What really sat with me in this Sonnet is her using her hands to guide her to what decision to make about love. In lines 3-5 she states, "If to the right hand there in love I burn; Let me go forward, therin danger is; If to the left suspicion hinders bliss..." She has a dilemma on her hands. Literally a dilemma on her hands. At the end of the Sonnet, she chooses to love. She states in lines 13-14, "Yet that which most my troubled sense doth move Is to leave all, and take the thread of love."

The line I chose from both the Sonnets and Speeches shows how they assert their power. Marry asserting her power about love and Queen Elizabeth asserting her power as the queen of England. Even Dolly Patron asserting her power in Jolene. Even with Judith, she asserts her power with beauty. All women have power and all women assert their power differently. Powerful women have always existed and will continue to exist.

Another thing is these women know what they want. They just down sit down and do nothing. these women are go-getters. The speaker states, "He for God only, she for God in him his fair large front and eye sublime declared Absolute rules; and hyacinate locks Round from his parted forelock manly hung clust'ring, but not beneath his shoulders broad..." (299-303).

It shows how much power have on earth and the power he has over Eve.

Paradise Lost talks about Eve power and appearance. The speaker states, "She as a veil down to the slender waist Her unadorned golden tresses wore Disheveled, but in wanton ringlets waved As the vine curls her tendrils, which implied Subjection, but required with gentle sway, And by her yielded, by him best received Ywith coy submission, modest pride, ANd sweet reluctant amorous delay." (304-311).

This foreshadows that she will be fall of man. Her hair described as the messy vegetation in Paradise. Like how things get messy in Paradise for Adam and Eve. It also describes how Eve is supposed to act and how Adam is over here.

The devil is sad and angry seeing the world for the first time. He states, "Thrice changed with pale, ire, envy, and despair Which marred his borrowed visage, and betrayed Him counterfeit if any eye held." (115-118).

The devil was amazed what God created. He knew he could have been apart of this. I think he is more angry at himself than God.

One sentence stood out to me in this story. The speaker states, "Religion would here destroy that tranquility posses by ignorance, and laws would teach 'em to know the now f which now they have no notion" (2315).

What stands out is religion should help keep order. How will it cause problems when using religion as a de of morals and sometimes the Justice system.

Sometimes looks can determine what kind of power you have. Power can be assertive by power or by your personality. With Adam being a man God already made him powerful. With Eve even though she is supposed to be under Adam she asserts her power to sometimes be more powerful than Adam.

We question thing sometimes that people don't want to question. Curiosity can be good and bad. Questioning religion is something most people don't want to question because religion is supposed to have all the answers. Curiosity leads to trouble you sometimes doubt because if dd did leave you there you would not be in the predicament you are in. Which also causes inner struggles.
