The kilt is a big part of the Scottish culture, people wear them to different occasions such as weddings, graduations, festivals and Highland games. The color or pattern of the kilt can vary, depending on the clan or family you’re in. The different looks of the kilt also show that you belong in a family and have your own history. Back when the clans fought against each other it was easier to separate and recognize clans. People often wear a pouch with the kilt called a sporran which is made of leather or fur. The sporran could come in handy because the kilt lacks pockets.
