Baking Gingerbread- Try it at Home! 🫚

We have loved baking gingerbread this afternoon! Our story in English is 'The Gingerbread Man', so we thought what better way of bringing the story to life than to bake them. We have gone through every step together as as a class using key vocabulary like 'knead and sieve' and now the children are working together in small groups to make their own. We are following the BBC food recipe and would recommend! 😋 I have attached an article about the importance of baking at home! 👨‍🍳🍰🍪🍩

Have a try splitting different house hold items into two groups and writing the matching number equation. Make sure children are using the vocabulary add and equals when reading out their number equation.

This video is support learning at home linked to number binds to 10. It is really important that children understand what a number bind to 10 is and can work out how to find a number bond to 10 and write the matching number equation. A great way of supporting is finding 10 things around the house, splitting them up into two groups and writing the matching number equation. Good luck everyone!
