2) Having a "define and clarify discussion" every time a new tool is introduced. 
3) As discussion is taking place, record on a sheet how to use these tools and  routines/procedures for these tools.
4) Students model: Provides and example to students and shows whether students understand.
5) Questioning students/observe as students use tools.
