         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. Not representative as it is mostly the older generation than opt to be a magistrate - may stick to particular traditions when sentencing etc.<br>2. Lay Magistrates are very likely to convict.<br>3. Cases aren't heard in as much detail as they would in the higher courts.<br>4. Inconsistent: slow to reach a decision and magistrates are retiring at a fast rate, with small amounts of younger magistrates. </div>]]></description>

The ability to progress into a Queens Counsel Barrister after 15 years in the profession and charge more from clients by doing higher level cases. Also QC's can represent clients in higher courts such as the High Court and the Supreme Court.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. they do not deal with cases from the beginning as in preliminary hearings solicitors act as advocates this means they may get a transferable case and so may not have all the information the solicitor did on the case before as there is a lack of communications between barristers and solicitors.<br><br>2.there are issues of a lack of class representation as the training required to become a barrister is very expensive so it is not representative of the wider community which increases the risk of prejudice in the profession.</div>]]></description>

Jurors may be influenced by their own personal prejudices, and therefore not make decisions based on fact and law or evidence provided in court. As well as this the jury may be influenced by the media, especially if the case is well known and the defendant has been featured in many newspapers and media outlets.&nbsp;<br><br>2) The jury also have to give no reasons for the verdict decided so that the parties involved may never truly understand how the case was decided as jurors only have to announce whether or not the defendant is guilty or innocent. As a result the decision made may not be fair and may not be totally reliant on the evidence provided in court <br><br></div>]]></description>
