After spending one year as a volunteer on an animal rescue farm in Africa, Jimin returns to his hometown (or more like three houses and a barn), excited to leave again soon to begin his Biological Science Studies in Seoul.

When he runs into a weird guy in the forest, who looks completely out of place in his designer clothes, Jimin can't help to be intrigued. What he doesn't know is that the stranger is Kim Namjoon, singer of the rising rock band Danger.

Soulmates.
It’s the word Taehyung and Jimin both came to hate when they learned what it meant. It’s more a curse than a blessing to them.

It’s quiet, almost inaudible, the whisper barely carrying any sound. But Namjoon knows it’s there. And even after all these years his heart still starts to beat faster whenever he’s woken up by his husband whispering his name in his sleep, knowing he’s with Jimin even in his dreams.

Namjoon loves to wake up to Jimin whispering his name in his sleep on mornings like this.

"Taehyung doesn’t know how he ended up here. There’s an unforgiving fog, he can’t even make out the opposite riverbank in the dark, it’s as if the bridge nearest to him leads into nothingness. All the city lights are obscured by the wall of white, everything looks different at this time of the night."


Taehyung runs into Jimin on a bridge in the middle of the night. The man is desperate and hopeless, not able to take another step. He decides to help.

“I know what you’re thinking,” Hoseok’s voice still sounded rough from the earlier tears, but at least he was smiling his wide, sunny smile again.
“Yeah?” Jimin averted his gaze from the family in front of him, his head suddenly feeling too heavy to hold up.
“Yup! Believe me, buddy. You’ll start Dreaming with your Soulmate soon enough, and they’ll make you just as happy. Even if you don’t believe me now— If someone is worthy of this, it’s you, Jimin.”


Set in a world where Soulmates can meet each other in their Dreams, Jimin and Namjoon have both been dreamless so far.
When they start Dreaming with each other, they don’t know that their lives are already starting to connect.

“Joon-ah.”
There’s panic in the grey omega eyes of Namjoon's mother. “Take the kids and run. Don’t come back here, ever. Promise me.”
Jimin clings even closer to the older boy who carries him; his small arms strongly wrapped around Namjoon’s neck.
Namjoon doesn’t say a word, he just stares, his eyes wide with horror and disbelief.

Fourteen years have passed since the day they all lost their parents, fourteen years since their pack has been ripped apart.


When Jimin turns eighteen, Namjoon starts avoiding him. They've been growing up together, shared everything with each other, but now Namjoon won't even look at him.
And there's this coldness. The coldness that won't let Jimin sleep at night.

He tries to find out how they ended up here, alone, looking up at the sky, but his mind is blank from the moment Jimin sat down next to him on the bench. He looks at the boy next to him, who is momentarily captured by the sight of the cleared-up sky, his head leaned back, his lips slightly parted in wonder.


For the first time in his life, Yoongi doesn't get tired of learning about somebody’s facial features all over again. It's almost magical how Jimin's beauty takes his breath away every time he looks at him.


There's something youthful and refreshing about him. Something new. Something unknown.

“Please stay safe, my ass,” Jimin mumbles, as he reaches for his phone to call his mother. He can already hear her voice, worried, but disappointed as well. And she has every reason to be.

It's Christmas Eve, the freeway is jammed, and when Jimin's car decides to break down on him, trucker Namjoon offers him a place to stay during the stormy night.

There are shadows again, mere memories this time, not as dark and threatening as they’d been on the previous night. They aren't happy ones, not by far. The fear of being stuck in life, the guilt he feels because he knows he doesn't visit his parents as often as he should, the reoccurring thought of never being enough, never be able to live his life to the fullest.
And then the light is back, soothing, calming, like cold fingers on feverish skin.


“You deserve better.”


The voice is sweet, bright, resembling the chime of a silvery bell, and if Namjoon didn't know better he'd say it's the voice of an angel. Soothing like the light itself. He's not sure if the voice is the light, or the light the voice. They are one in a sense.

Namjoon has been sent to an island to write an article for the travel magazine he works for. Soon he realizes that his dreams are different here, just like everything in this small, odd inn he’s sleeping at.
