Turning into a werewolf is painful, to say it politely. It's very hard to quite put into words the sickening molding of the flesh like it is clay to some twisted magic. The way one's mind ebbs away into animalistic desires to hunt and feed. Holding on to humanity starts to hurt, it hurts like losing a loved one does in a sharp pang to the heart.
