An example of such a practice would be researching the time and place of collection, as well as the people from whom the data was collected (i.e. a survey on music interests among teenagers in Chicago in the year 2022).          <description><![CDATA[<div>I think when releasing a set of statistics, it it necessary to include a written explanation to the data in addition to the pure mathematical exploration.&nbsp; The explanation has to include the nuance that numbers alone are unable to show.&nbsp; In doing so, you are removing the level of "objectivity" that we as a society give to math.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I believe that there are a few ways in which we can avoid treating people like numbers while still using mathematics and statistics. The first way would be to not generalize statistics as much as we do and get more accurate data for statistics. Another case would be to consider the external factors someone has that might affect a statistic that applies to them. For example, if someone has a 40% chance of getting a disease, it's important to analyze their specific body to see if they have any other health factors that might increase or decrease the percentage.<br><br>- Lucas</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When doing statistics, we can make sure to keep the data people focused and the results objective. Although there might be a goal with the data we're gathering, it represents larger groups of people and has the power to influence their experiences throughout their lives. We may be able to do this by ensuring that statistical results are always seen in comparison to their context and that the people being presented with statistical results are able to accurately interpret them and recognize their limitations. There should always be the full picture with a statistical investigation, not just the results it yields. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>You could use stats to help show unknown information, for instance if there is an anecdotal evidence being presented as fact&nbsp; using real life data can be a way to show that x about of people have a differing option.          <title>The Subjectivity of Math:  As objective as it is, Math is often seen as a field of study that can not fully express a human&#39;s value or worth. Though that is mostly true, there are still some ways they can be represented. We often use statistics to survey certain demographics about certain topics to get more input of the people. These responses are simplified by converting them to numbers rather than words. We often see people rate things at different things. Things like food places (Yelp), apps (Google Play), professors (RateMyProfessor), the quality of a product (Amazon). These are things that help others get a very general review or idea of a certain product/place. Again, these will probably vary based off perspectives and subjectivity, but it should give a well enough impression for others to come to a conclusion. </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think the best way to avoid treating people like numbers of impersonal objects is to take into account what a statistic is. To my knowledge, the stats that are generally seen in media are trying to prove their point by studying a group of people. The answer found serves as a general answer for all that fits into the group. While this is helpful when studying a group, it's easy to link groups together based on loose similarities, which can be harmful. There for specific labeling of what is being shown, who's being represented, and the context should be easily assessible.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>i think it's really difficult to emotionally connect mathematics to objects because mathematics was designed to be an abstract way to communicate, almost the most simplified version of something. to not make it a number of an impersonal object would sort of contradict our original reason for numbers.&nbsp;<br><br>In statistics,&nbsp; context is extremely important and inherently gives the produced number meaning. However, this can only be applied in abstract concepts such as calculus or geometry to an extent</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In regards to statistics and generalizing a population, its hard to avoid keeping people to labels and populations. However given the idea that all people are not the same, they should not be treated equally in regards to statistics. In reference to last class and the 50 percent risk of said disease, patients in this scenario should not be subject to the statistics and should be tested and or examined regardless.<br><br>Lance&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <title>I believe it can be difficult at times with representing data trends without the use of numbers and commonalities amongst specific variables. When collecting feedback for a project or software, it&#39;s best to make a clear distinction of opinion collection vs. numerical collection.  For example, noting specific complaints or loops of feedback from a user could be distinctive and shouldn&#39;t be represented through numbers, rather stored on a specific user portfolio in a database. Whereas the amount of times a user logs onto an application daily, could be set with numbers as their is a difference between impactful and relevant data. </title>
