1. There are various factors driving the growing interest of the military in responding to disasters: assisting relief efforts can improve the military image and provide training opportunities, and may also be a way for the military to diversify their role at a time when armed forces globally are experiencing budget cuts. With an increase in the incidence of natural disasters, national and foreign militaries can be expected to play a bigger role particularly in large-scale disasters, where the capacity of humanitarian organisations may be stretched.

2. Climate change increases the factors that put and keep people in poverty. Floods may sweep away urban slums, destroying homes and livelihoods. Any small increase in global average temperature over an extended period can trigger a chain reaction of climatic change around the world. Climate change in the Philippines is having serious impacts such as increased frequency and severity of natural disasters, sea level rise, extreme rainfall, resource shortages, and environmental degradation. All of these impacts together have greatly affected the Philippines' agriculture, water, infrastructure, human health, and coastal ecosystems and they are projected to continue having devastating damages to the economy and society of the Philippines.

3. Typhoon Hazards. Typhoons and heavy rains may cause flooding which, in turn, can potentially increase the transmission of communicable diseases. Among all the hazards I could say for now that typhoon's affect us the most, because all my family lives in the province of Batangas and I am currently in the province as well, it floods here and makes it hard for us to go outside to buy some groceries or when there are immediate concerns.
