 The Nazis were founded in 1919. The Nazis created concentration camps to torture and/or kill the jews. This army ruled Germany and banned all other political parties.

Anne Frank was a Jewish child that hid in the attic of an apartment with her family and four other Dutch Jews for two years. Anne wrote a diary during her time in hiding. She wrote about her fears, hopes and experiences. Her diary was a real description of the life of Jewish children in the holocaust and was published after the war and became a symbol for the children who lost their lives. Anne died in March 1945 when the German police discovered their hiding place.

The United States dropped an atomic bomb on Nagasaki, Japan on August 9, 1945 and on September 2nd Japan officially surrendered ending the war. 80 million deaths resulted from the war meaning that 4% of the world died. There was lots of work to be done to rebuild the ruined land and property.

The allies included countries in the British empire such as the United States, China, Russia, Britain, France, China, Canada, Soviet Union, Poland and Australia. They formed just to go against the Axis Powers. America, Britain, and Russia were called the Big Three until China joined the group, they then were called the Four Policemen. The allies won WWII.
