There are differences In how children live in these to towns. One of them is that Anchorage kids have an easier life that Buckland kids. The text states "Four students looked over the rows of butter in the refrigerator cases of a supermarket in Anchorage, Alaska. There were more choices than these students had ever seen."This is the kind we have at home," said Karstin Hadley, pointing to a pound of butter marked $2.99. In her small village, the only brand of butter available costs $4.79 a pound." These quotes prove that kids who live in Anchorage can buy things with many choices to choose from for a not-so-expensive-price, while kids in Anchorage must live a harder life cecause they have no choice and must pay for a higher price. To sum it all up, Anchorage kids have an easier life than Buckland kids.

Though the two places her differences, they have some similarities as well. One of them is that their everyday-life actions are similar. The text states "Most people have dogs, and the teenagers have laptop computers. Many families also rent movies by mail through Netflix.". This quote proves that both town's everyday doings are similar. To sum it all up, the two places, Anchorage and Buckland have not just differences (Though there are a lot of them), but similarities as well.

They don't have a lot of people so they don't expect to have a lot of people to meet and become friends. On the other hand, the people of Anchorage have multiple schools, so they are not used to such a small amount of people.

The kids from the small village of Buckland and the kids from the big city of Anchorage are both equally different in different ways. The kids from Buckland live in a small village, don't have indoor plumbing in there house's, they only have one school, and the food is more expensive. In the article it states " A little more than 400 people live in Buckland. There is also a 10 p.m. Curfew for youth and no indoor plumbing except at the school. Homes usually have five-gallon plastic pails for toilets. There is only one school in Buckland, and students in all grades learn there. A large bag of potato chips costs $7.15. A dozen eggs cost $4.99." This shows Buckland is isolated and has little resource's. The kids who live in the big city of Anchorage have a bigger population, the food is cheaper. In the text it says "In Anchorage, population 282,813, "This is the kind we have at home," said Karstin Hadley, pointing to a pound of butter marked $2.99. In her small village, the only brand of butter available costs $4.79 a pound." This quote shows that the big city is not isolated because everything is cheaper, this also shows more people live in Anchorage. There are many difference's in each type of life even though there are not many things they have in similar they both have homes.

In the text, "Same Kids, Different Lives" children from Anchorage, Alaska and kids from Buckland, Alaska learn that they have both similar and different lives when they visit each other's communities. During a visit to Buckland, children from Anchorage learn that they have several similarities with the kids in Buckland. According to the text, "Most people have dogs. The teenagers have laptop computers. Many families also rent movies by mail through Netflix." This shows that kids and their families live the same way in different places.

In contrast, there are also many differences between life in Buckland and life in Anchorage. Buckland is a small, remote village and Anchorage is a larger urban area. The families in Buckland carry on many of the Native American traditions and activities of their ancestors; while families in Anchorage live a more modern lifestyle, going to movie theaters, huge malls, and grocery stores. Also, things are more expensive in Buckland. It "... is so remote that it is difficult to transport goods there. This causes the prices to go up." As you can see, the families from Anchorage, Alaska and Buckland, Alaska have many similarities and differences in their lifestyles.

A life for a kid who lives in village of Buckland and the life for a kid in the city of Anchorage could be similar and different for many different reasons. For instance, one similarity between the city and the village is that the teenagers have laptop computers. Also, in both areas most people have pets. They also have many differences like that Mirror lake students have a big noisy city and Buckland is a small village. Other difference between the two areas is that the big noisy city has plumbing in their schools as well as their homes. On the contrary, the small village only have plumbing in their schools not their houses. Another big difference is that the population of Anchorage, is 282,813, while the students from Buckland, population is 418. Also, the prices decrease when you’re in Mirror Lake, I know this because the article stated "pointing to a pound of butter marked $2.99. In her small village, it costs $4.79. It is the only brand of butter available." This quote depicts that there are less choices of food in a small village than a big city and it also increases the prices in a little village due to the transportation. As you can see, there are some things alike and some differences between the lives for kids who live in Anchorage and Buckland.

The lives of Anchorage vs the lives in Buckland are very different. An example from the article “Same Kids, Different Lives” that shows how the Buckland kids don't have the easiest lives is "Ballot and his classmates also visited Mirror Lake Middle School. The school has 680 students. That's more people than the entire village of Buckland." and another example from " Dig Deeper" ( the second part ) is "There is only one school in Buckland, and students in all grades learn there." These two quotes show that Buckland is a very small town and they don't get a lot. An example from the article "Same Kids, Different Lives" that shows how life in Anchorage is not hard is "They ate Big Macs, went to an indoor water park, and shopped in vast malls." This shows that life in Anchorage is about the same as life here. To sum things up, the two places are very different.

The lives of Anchorage vs. the live of Buckland have similarities, too. An example from the article "Same Kids, Different Lives" that shows how they are similar is "the Mirror Lake students could see ways that their Buckland peers were very much like them. Most people have dogs, and the teenagers have laptop computers. Many families also have Netflix, the mail-order movie-rental service." This shows that the people who live in Anchorage and the people who live in Buckland have similarities. To sum things up, the two places have similarities, as well as differences.

A Buckland kid would be poor. A quote from the article says: " Buckland is a village of 418 people." This quote proves that they have not that many homes in the town and not many people live there and they can not afford a lot of things.

An Anchorage kid would be pretty normal. A quote from the article says: " Anchorage has over 280,000 people. Buckland students visited a musk-ox farm. They went to the state crime lab. They ate Big Macs and went to huge malls. The students had fun. Some kids, however, said the city was much bigger and busier than what they were used to. This quote proves that the kids in Anchorage would forget that they were so well-gifted! That is because in the quote, it said: Some kids, however, said the city was much bigger and busier than what they were used to. Which proves that they are kind of spoiled.
