This is connected to TOK because faith and religion/culture are often brought up in discussion, and often times affect the way people think or view certain situations. Many people who believe in the Shinto religion have certain/different views and perspectives on things that have been shaped and affected by their belief in the Shinto religion. For example, the idea that you shouldn't walk down the middle of the path of the shrine because its disrespectful to god could be considered valuable knowledge to someone of the Shinto religion. But to someone who is not part of the Shinto religion or who doesn't believe in god might not find that knowledge valuable because it doesn't have any meaning to them.
