These two quotes compliment each other by with quote 4 acting as evidence of the significant burden place on the healthcare system by providing the shocking cost of treating/managing diabetic patience, while quote 7 helps to further emphasis the burden of type 2 diabetes by implying that we would use considerable less resources and reduce the burden if significant amount of resources were allocated to diabetes.

The connection between these two quotes as it relates to writing my position paper is actually the contrast. Quote 6 is acting as evidence that intermittent fasting works to improve the root cause of type 2 diabetes which is insulin resistance and high glucose, the exact actions of prescribe medications, but without it. Quote 8 helps to drive home a point that medication isn't necessary to treat IF and that IF is potentially a better treatment options as medication only manage the symptoms and does not treat the cause of the disease.
