1. Where did the garbage come from? Trash Commutes

2.How did it come to be in the middle of the Pacific/Atlantic? Ocean Currents

3.What is keeping the garbage there? convergence zone is where warm water from the South Pacific meets up with cooler water from the Arctic. The zone acts like a highway that moves debris from one patch to another.

Why do you think such a big problem is relatively unheard of? Because that water is coming thru some peoples sink and they didn't want people to know that
