The Battle was at at Antietam Creek near Sharpsburg, Maryland. In the battle, General Robert E. Lee's Confederate army tried to invade the North.          <description><![CDATA[<div>The First Battle Of Bull Run<br>The First battle of bull run was one of the major battles leading to the Civil War. On July 21, 1861, Union and Confederates armies fought their first battle near Manassas Junction, Virginia. The battle began when about 35,000 Union troops marched from the federal capitol in Washington D.C. to strike at the Confederates force which was about 20,000 men. The battle was along the small river known as Bull run. After fighting at a defensive position, the rebels were able to break the Union right flank, which send the federals being a chaotic mess trying to retreat to Washington. This battle's casualties topped 22,000 men overall but the Union losses numbering 13,824 and Confederates killed, wounded, or missing numbered 8,353 men.<br>Source: History.com</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Fort Sumter Battle<br>The attack on Fort Sumter marked the beginning of the Civil War. This war started with the Confederates army being led by P.G.T Beauregard. The Confederates had about 500 men while the Union had 50 men. The Confederates fired upon Fort Sumter On April 12, 1861while Fort Sumter was running low on supplies. The Union had to surrender because they were outmanned, undergunned, and outsupplied. The war lasted 3 days from&nbsp; Apr 12 - 14, 1861. In the battle, the Confederates launched a surprise attack on the Union in southwestern Tennessee. The Confederates did get the upper-hand but, after the initial successes the confederates were unable to hold their positions which led to the Union getting the upper-hand and winning the battle.          <description><![CDATA[<div>The Battle of Fredericksburg<br>The Battle of Fredericksburg&nbsp; had the most number of total men involved in any Civil War battle. The war included the Union attacking the Confederate army of Northern Virginia at Fredericksburg on December 13, 1862 . While the Union had the upper- hand the Confederate army got back at them with heavy casualties because of their higher position on Marye’s Heights. The Battle of Fredericksburg was a major failure for the Union but a victory for the Confederate. The casualties for both of the were&nbsp; <strong>12,653 Union casualties and 4,201 Confederate casualties</strong>.<br>Source: History.com</div>]]></description>
