Step 2: The middle right side has the sun shining down on to leaves on branches. The leaves are orange and yellow. The picture was taken from under the tree.
Step 3: The artist uses line as the element of design to lead the viewers eyes towards the sun. The branches of the tree lead into the sun and the eye follows the branches to the bright spot (sun) in the middle right side. Eyes follow lines. In this case eyes are following branch lines to the objects that sticks out like the sun.
The artist uses emphasis as the principle of design. The sun draws the eye towards it. The sun is really bright and almost seems like you are looking into the sun itself. The eye goes to the sun first then the  branches and leaves. Whether the artist wanted that or not?
Step 4: The artist is showing the beauty of nature. While looking at the fall colored leaves, the sun shines down on the branches. The artist shows two nature elements separate are beautiful, but combined they create a feeling of warmth and fall. 
Step 5: The sunbeam is a little bright and there are some leaves that have a white outline. The artist could have used photoshop to make the brightness a little less. The white in the photo on the leaves seems a little unreal.
