Sitoy is an author, journalist and teacher. She was born in Dumaguete City in 1969 in the Southearn Philippines. She took a main course in creative writing and comparative literature from the University of the Philippines, she also joined the Manila Times in 2000 and serve as an opinion editor and columnist, she loved them again at Manila Times last 2010 when she decided to settle down in Denmark with her husband a publisher of fiction from Asia, Latin America, Africa and Oceania translated into Danish her published work includes her books Mens Rea in 1998, Jungle Planet in 2005 and Sweet Haven published in France in 2011, North America in 2014 and the Philippines in 2015. Her short stories have also appeared in magazines such as Philippines Free Press and Philippine Graphic and Story Philippines. They have appeared in various anthologies in the Philipines, such as Likhaan anthology of Poetry and Fiction(published by the University of the Philippines Press) and the best Philippine stories, a 2000 anthology published by Tahanan Books and edited by Isagani Cruz. Other stories appeared in Manoa, the Literary Journal of the University of Hawaii; Wake, an anthology of stories, essays and poems about Southeast Asia published in Britain to benefit victims of 2004 tsunami; an Ansigter, an anthology of Southeast Asian short stories published by Forlaget Hjulet in Copenhagen in 2008. She received the David T.K Wong fellowship from the University of East Anglia United Kingdom in 2003 was longlisted for the man Asian Literacy Price in 2008 and has received numerous prizes in the Annual Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards she holds an MA from Rosklide University in Denmark where she resides and teaches English.
As a journalist, Sitoy was a lifestyle and culture section editor for various papers, and was a columnist and section editor of Manila times. She earned a Degree in Biology from Siliman University. The story is about Ami who is an employee in an NGO that advocates woman rights and she always sleeps in her office because of all the deadlines given to her by her boss. Ami was kind of insecure, but she never let that insecurity get to her. or maybe her love of food was greater than the insecurity. It was also mentioned that she was dealing with a lot of things like deadlines, broken friendships, lovelessness, among many others. She turned to food, something from which she derived extreme pleasure, for comfort when things became too heavy to handle. often she was berated for her tendency to indulge in food. One night her co-worker named Jayme came to her and help her with her work and it felt like a fresh air for her. Jayme was the nice, artsy fartsy type who went with the flow. He was so kind to her. He didn't have intimate feelings for Ami but he adored her and knew she was vulnerable. He kind of even took care of her. Ami admired him with greater fervor. Ami went for a small amount of sleep on the couch in the office and when she woke up she didn't realize that it was only an hour to go until her deadline so she rushed and did get work. She saw Jayme and told him why he didn't wake her up but Jayme said that she seems so tired so he just let her sleep. Ami told Jayme be her company in the office but Jayme said that he can't beacause he is going to Baguio. Jayme decided to go for a coffee with Ami and then Ami said that she didn't have cash so she'll just find for an ATM to withdraw cash. The first ATM machine was closed so they went to look for another ATM but the second ATM that they saw didn't have banknet on it so they drove around Quezon City just to find an ATM but they couldn't find with a banknet on it. So Jayme just decided to treat Ami for a coffee and then after that he said that he would just take her to her home and he would just go to Baguio after it. Jayme didn't know where Ami's house is, so Ami's just telling him the way to her house. Ami doesn't want to go home yet and she's just telling Jayme the way to Baguio not to her house. Then Jayme just drove straight to Baguio and touched Ami's cheek.

Feminis, and the thing about weight, is noticeable in Lakambini's short stories. In this story, the protagonist portrays a girl who like to eat or at least nibble on something time to time, especially while working. She does this with guilt, which is something the readers might be able to relate to. This story also showed her interest in a man, who she says isn't that handsome, but also say that he's okay. She showed her feminist self when they went to get coffee and she didn't want him to pay for her, saying it's not feminist to allow a guy to pay, but in the end the man paid for her after failing to find a megalink or an atm. In the end, despite wanting to finish her work, she ended up not going home and tagging along with the man all the way to Baguio, where the man was headed. Despite saying he's all wrong, because he smoked joints, loved comic books, and needled her about her weight, she went on with him saying nothing he say will ever hurt her now. It was also stated she didn't feel anything as she went with him, just a strange light sensation and no guilt or anything. In conclusion, this story might be about giving in temptations, and going with the flow. It is something that the readers can relate to, especially to those with sweet tooth.
