National Library: The full name of the national library is Biblioteca Nacional De Guatemala "Luis Cardoza Y Aragón", it bears that name in honor of the Guatemalan poet, essayist and diplomat whose name is one of the most important of the 20th century in Guatemala. It was founded during the government of Justo Rufino Barrios in 1879. It is the largest library in all of Guatemala and holds approximately 145,000 volumes.
