 Customs union represent 82% of the latin GDP and 300 millions of inhabitants. The free flow of good and services and a common economic policy.

- Having  Brazil in the union is a real strenght, it represent 77% of the union GDP, it is an emerging country, it is concidered as the latin american industrial leader and as a world agricutural power.

Mercosur is a South American trade bloc established by the Treaty of Asunción in 1991 and Protocol of Ouro Preto in 1994. Its full members are Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. Venezuela is a full member but has been suspended since December 1, 2016. Associate countries are Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador and Suriname. Mercosur's purpose is to promote free trade and the fluid movement of goods, people, and currency. To what extent is Mercosur efficient in a globalized world ?

The main type of exports is agricultural goods and manifactured goods. We can see that MERCOSUR is a real economic power. However, it also shows important disparities within this union as the different countries do not have the same economic strenght. Brazil for example is leading the exports especially regarding the manifactured goods

This map only shows commercial flows which are only a part of MERCOSUR power.
Moreover, it only shows the flows within latinamerica and not worldwide
