-After a zoom meet it might be beneficial to walk away from your computer for at least 5-10 minutes. Being on a computer for numerous hours a day can take a toll on your vision and it can be mentally exhausting. -Stick to a strict schedule. If your office hours are 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. be sure to only respond to people during those hours. There is a reason for office hours. You have to take your time to unwind. Also you have a life outside of work as well and it is important that you keep the two separate.

Mrs. Smith, I do appreciate your sentiments and endorse this 100%. I never had real issues or concerns with my sight until starting Zoom classes. My vision is greatly impacted now, and even with the blue light filter, my eyes become watery and blurry after a few minutes of being on-screen. I am confident that I am not the only teacher who shares this sentiment, but teaching online is just as exhausting (if not more) as teaching in the physical classroom. It is definitely not easier. This is a factor we should also acknowledge. The "Zoom burnout" is very real. I have no current solution at the moment, however I try to process these issues as they pop up. Good coping strategies are definitely welcomed! ----- K. Stewart

I agree with all the comments made. I do not think there is a real answer to how to best cope with overload or burnout, although practicing mindfulness may be a helpful technique to some such as exercise, walking, yoga or just simply becoming one with the environment by listening to the things around you. This technique can be practiced differently by everyone. Meditation and creating a way to provide yourself with self-care can be important as well. Also, I really like how someone stated the importance of setting a schedule and utilizing office hours as a time to respond. I recognize that we all are different and have to find our own practice to address this issue but I hope this is a helpful insight. Although I am not a teacher, I recognize the struggles and I would like to commend you for all the work and efforts you put forth in the education of the students. If I can be of any assistance, please let me know.
