Yes, technology has a profound impact to humans in various field of life to make it better and convenient. To compare and contrast the way of living from the past and the present, we can surely identify the drastic change among people who lives along the advancement of technology. Speaking of people and change, let’s shift our focus on the influence of Information Technology on culture and social behavior. 

Technology and culture are two different forces yet they co-exist with one another, and in some other way, influential too. When new technology is presented to the community, the culture will react positively or negatively. Moreover, cultural changes are inevitable. As it changes through time, technology will develop new product to adhere the changes within culture (TeachersCollegesj, 2020). In addition, technology is impactful enough to associate our actions to it. From writing letters to sending text, from face-to-face interactions to virtual meetings, from malls to online shop, from physical office to working at home, everything with technology was made easy.  On the other hand, it also has a pros and cons on our social being. We know for a fact that humans are social being. With the exposure of technology in this present time, we are influenced by this, consciously or unconsciously. Consciously, in the sense that we voluntarily submit or expose ourselves to these influences and succumbed the consequences of the action.  In this borderless system of accessible information online, we get to choose what content our mind absorbs, and this will reflect to our social behavior. It can be motivational, inspiring, and beneficial or it can be depressing, downgrading, and destructive. On one hand, the influence can also be absorbed unconsciously. We may not pay full attention to what we saw, read, and listen in the internet or any forms of technology, it will still somehow be embedded in the back of our heads. Similarly to what we voluntarily indulge ourselves into, the consequences are alike.

 Despite how many advantages the information technology offers to humans, it still connotes negative impacts to an individual. In the field of information technology, it is a great place to improve, to have fun, and to learn new things in our convenience; everything with technology is now within reach. Still, it is important to take accountability and responsibility to what we do online. As a good netizen, we must be literate enough to righteously manipulate the power of information technology and be appropriate in the virtual space to promote positive social behavior and respecting everybody else’s culture.
