While i was reading the book i came a cross some parts that made me question and wonder what would happen next.(112) I questioned the book because Mam took more days off than usual then came back with a busted up face. In order to find out who did it i had to read more and later found out it was Ara T. (whole book) What was interesting about this book was that the main characters name wasn't mentioned until the very last page of the book. This made me wonder what his name was through out the whole book. His name turned out to be Victor Vollmer the third.

When I was reading the book big events were happening near the climax of the story. I was drawing conclusions in my head about how the events would end. For example on page 187 Mam went to go get Victors knife back and Ara T caught her by surprise and started choking her up against the wall. I thought that Mam was going to die but Victor came in and threw a bottle at Ara to make him let go of Mam then Big Sack Captured him and turned him in to the police.

I was able to make many different connections through out the book. For example page 2 Victor says he hates commas because they mess his thought process when it comes to writing. I feel the same way about commas because they are annoying to forget when I'm writing.

In Paperboy the main character otherwise known as Little Man, plays a lot of baseball and loves it. But he has trouble talking. He stutters a lot. That causes him to get bullied in school. But when Summer comes he must take his friends paper route.

There are parts of the book that make me visualize. The part of the book that made me visualize the most was when Victor got up in class and introduced himself because that is what I have to do at the start of every school year.

#6 How main characters change throughout the book.

There is more than one main character in most books including Paperboy. I really think that Victor changes a lot throughout the book because he went from not talking to anybody except for Rat, to making new friends and talking in class with out stuttering. Another main character that changes a lot throughout the book is Mrs. Worthington. She miss heard him when he said "pitch" and thought he called her a b****. But she apologized and was friends with Victor, but later she cancelled her paper. (118-123)

The theme of the book is to do what you need to do even if it is challenging. For example Victor had to save Mam from Ara T by throwing the bottle at him. That must have been challenging considering Ara T could have killed Mam by choking her. (187)

Victor Vollmer is a seventh grader that does not like to talk to anyone other than his friend Rat, and his family members Mam, and his mom and dad. He does not like to talk because he has a severe stutter. He cant even say his own name with out stuttering. He must take over his friends paper route for the whole month of July.

My opinion of the book was that I thought the book was an interesting one because the whole book was first person, the main character's name didn't get mentioned until the end, and there were more cliff hangers at the end of chapters that I've seen in any other book. This book just made me want to keep turning the pages to find out what happens next.
