Question 1: What would you enjoy about visiting a park like this?

I would enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful scenery of the park. This is because I can take a break from my usual school life and the forest of concrete buildings that I see on a day to day basis. The view of the greenery and lake will let my eyes take a break from the constant usage of my mobile phone.
Parks like this are also quiet and peaceful, which can grant me some quiet time to myself and take a break from my schoolwork.
However, sometimes, large groups of people, whether it's students or workers on their off-days, might arrange large gatherings or picnics in such places. They would produce a lot of noise and annoy the other visitors who wanted to go there for some peace and quiet. I have not personally encountered that before, but I know of people who have shared about large groups of domestic helpers who gather in parks on Sundays, and they can get pretty loud with their singing or music coming from portable speakers.

Question 2: What is your opinion about the green spaces in the area where you live?

I live near the beach, and there is a lot of natural vegetation in the area which is very calming. I feel that the air I breathe in everyday is very fresh and when I look at the greenery it soothes my eyes. I have a clear view of it from my bedroom, so it's very convenient to look up and relax my eyes for a little while when I take a break from studying or doing homework. The sea breeze is also very relaxing and calming. Since I live near the beach, the wind blows into my house as well, together with the fresh air that the trees produce. In the mornings as I get ready for school, it is especially cooling.
I do believe that living next to the beach is something to be grateful for, since not everyone gets to live in areas with such convenient access to large spaces of greenery or fresh air. For example, those living close to the industrial areas in Jurong, Mandai or Eunos might be subjected to the dust from the factories and workshops in the area.
So in my opinion, the beach near my house is definitely a great source of fresh air and space to relax and unwind.

Question 3: How far would you agree that having green spaces in built-up areas is vital to the well-being of a community?

I agree to a large extent, that having green spaces in built-up areas is vital to a community's well-being because people tend to feel more relaxed and refreshed when they see green spaces - something new other than concrete buildings. An example of green spaces could be typical parks with flower, and many trees. Sometimes these parks would have ponds, streams or small rivers running through. Having parks situated in built-up residential areas provide the nearby residents with spaces to carry out group exercises such as Taiji, or outdoor yoga. Residents can also jog around the park if the park is large enough. When doing such activities in greenery fill park they will feel more relax and lively. Hence, people believe including such activities in their daily routine can help enhance their lifestyle. Hence, having green spaces in built-up residential areas can benefit the community's well-being.
Furthermore, it's also beneficial to have green spaces even around office buildings. For example, if there are more green spaces in the business district in Singapore, people working there can choose to have their lunch at the park or garden and take a break from the busy routines of the office. Seeing a patch of green when they look out their windows can also help set them at ease if they're feeling stressed. There has been research done to prove that the colour green is a soothing and refreshing colour, which is what employees need.
However, some people may believe that having green spaces in built-up areas will only invite unwanted people, noise, and distraction. While some people think that parks should remain quiet and peaceful, others may see it as space where they're allowed to make noise in outdoor levels. However, sounds tend to echo within built-up areas. If people make noise in these green spaces, no matter how big or small, it may prove to be a nuisance to the people in the surrounding buildings.
Despite that, I still believe that people still benefit more from having green spaces in built-up areas because the long-term benefits are still better.
