         <description><![CDATA[<div>Before this all happened in 1971 the San Fransisco schools desecrated about 2865 students because they were not fluent in English. It was the result of a previous case Lee vs Johnson that said this. The students not fluent in English were placed in special education classes and never moved up grades. They would be in classes with students with special needs and they could never get the help they needed. The students who knew English about 1000 stayed enrolled in San Fransisco and continued school</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This act was pushed back in 1968 and was important to this case because it addressed that funding was limited to the kids who didn't know English. Only about 100,000 out of 500,000 of the kids in these special programs were funded.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Edward Steinman a lawyer was trying to help the students by letting them challenge the school to get a better education for their children. One of the Lau challenged the head of San Francisco Unified school district. His name was Alan Nichols. Therefore Lau v Nichols. The students were saying that they were not receiving special help. They said they were entitled to something because it was discrimination and it was education discrimination.<br><br>This picture shows a class for the special needs. The special needs were normal kids with no disabilities. They just were put in the class because they couldn’t speak English  </div>]]></description>
