Types of verbs

Verbs are classified into categories that allow us to form sentences with clarity and precision.

1.Linking verbs: they join the subject of the sentence with the rest. That is, make a statement and link these sentences instead of showing any type of action.The most common are: I am, is, was, were, being. Also the "become"
and the "seems".Example:
The gastronomy class is important because it allows us to acquire knowledge for daily life.

Action verbs

Action verbs: These are those that identify quickly and easily.
Examples: run, jump.
There are also 2 types of verbs (transitive and intransitive).
A transitive verb is one that acquires meaning only if it exerts its action on an object.
Example:Please bring tea.
 An intransitive verb will make sense without an object.He left his coat on the couch.
Example: 
He left his coat on the couch.

Auxiliary ( or helping)verbs:

They are those that have the same ending when conjugated in different tenses.
Some rules are:
1.When the verb ends in (consonant).
Jump - jumped
stop-stopped
2.When they end in a silent "e" and the "d" is added:
Receive - received
Breathe - breathe.
3.One sillable verb with a single vowel and single consonant, double the final consonant.
Example: trip-tipped.
Cram-crammed.
4.Two syllable with stress on the last syllable ( Double the fianll consonant and add "ed"):
controll. controlled.
5.When verb ending in "y" ( change "y" to "i":
Example:
Cry-cried
copy-copied.

Irregulars verbs

They are those that do not follow regular conjugation rules.
1.Present perfect tense: They are formed using the present tense of the verb "have" (has/have) and is followed by the past tense of the main verb.
Example: He has broken his leg.
They have arrived in Panama.

2.Past tense: It is formed using the tense of the auxiliary verb "have" (had) followed by the past participle of the verb.
Example: I had finished the work.
The present and past are very important to express relationships and specify different events.

When we talk about the grammatical tense that expresses actions of who we are talking about, it can occur in: Past, present and future tense.
 We use the present tense to express what we are doing at the moment.
In regular verbs we add "s".

Ex: I take the bus every day to work.
 When they are irregular verbs, we use the base form of the vcerb for every subject:
 Has a son.
Negative statements:
We only add "do not" for every subject used as a base verb.
example:
The child has not done his homework.For interrogative statements we only use the "do" at the beginning of each question in any subject.
Example:
Do you want me to help you?
