“Lucky” by Britany Spears is a song that has always been around in my time because it was released in 2000. This year during quarantine I took a deeper dive into this song because I noticed how much I connect to it. Right now I am shooting for big things and this song reminds me to always remember that even if you “have it all” whether its fame, money, or opportunities, you need to keep yourself humble and open to everyone or else you could end up with nothing. “Lucky” is a wonderful message and will forever be a piece that’s significant to my life. “Dive In The Water” takes me back to my very last dance convention I've ever competed at with my dance studio before COVID 19 took my season away. This song was used during my contemporary class as our combo, and it stood out to me because it was the only time I felt alive during that whole morning of classes. All I remember is me and the entire room of people dancing our hearts out together which was the best feeling. listening to this song brings back that memory but also reminds me of what it was like when everything in life was normal. This was a very popular song when my family and I traveled across Europe. I had so many amazing memories when traveling to Germany and every time I hear this song, I remember what it was like when life was normal and traveling was effortless. “Sign Of The Times” played in the car that we rented all the time. During our in-car castle tours, my jet lag was terrible. When I got sleepy, I closed my eyes and heard this song play. “Wings” by Birdy is such a valuable song to me. Using the acoustic version, I had my very first contemporary solo choreographed to this song. When I hear this song play, I remember the feeling I had on stage performing my solo and when I realized contemporary was my favorite style. “Of The Night” by Bastille takes me back to when I just started loving to dance. The reason is because after I just started taking classes at Center Stage Dance Studio, I was inspired when watching other talented dancers dance to this song across the floor. When I saw such talent in others it got me to think that maybe I could dance like that too.
