I think the white blindness itself doesn't represent a specific thing, but is meant to emphasize the change in behavior towards those afflicted and the people who are healthy. When you're telling a lie, you are usually aware of the consequences you will face if that lie is exposed as untrue and you know how it will affect others' perception of you.
