Aphrodite told Paris that she would give him Helen, the most beautiful woman on earth, Paris not knowing that she was already married to King Menelaus of Sparta.

Achilles was the son of Peleus, king of the Myrmidons. According to Greek myth Achilles's mother dipped his heel into the River Styx when he was just a baby. This made him invulnerable except for his heel. Achilles was the strongest warrior during the Trojan war. According to post-Homeric myths, the Greeks would not have won the Trojan war without Achilles. According to Greek legend Paris was the one who killed Achilles with a bow, avenging his brother Hector. Paris was not a very renound archer and received the help of the Archery god Apollo, to guide his arrow into Achilles's heel, the only spot where he was vulnerable.
