Character's names and traits: </strong></div><div>- Aphrodite: Goddess of love and beauty, sex and desire.<br>- Pygmalion: a famous sculptor of Cyprus island.<br>- Galatea: it was the name Pygmalion gave to the ivory statue he carved. It later became alife.<br><br><strong>2. God's relationship and symbol: </strong></div><div>Aphrodite was the daughter of Zeus and Dione ( descendant of the Titans and lover of Zeus). <br><br>Her symbols are the apple, the myrtle wreath, the scallop shell and the dove.<br> <br><strong>3. Summary of the story: </strong></div><div>Pygmalion was a sculptor who fell in love with the beautiful statue of a woman he carved. He was so in love with it that prayed and implored with all his heart and soul to Goddess of love, Aphrodite, that she turned his ivory figurine into a real woman. Touched by his deep veneration, she granted Pymalion his wish and Galatea came to life. They got married and lived happily ever after.<br><br><strong>4.  Message behind the myth: </strong></div><div>As it is commonly known, the Pygmalion effect is a self-fulfilling prophecy in which the higher expectations are placed on people, the better the execution of their work.<br><br></div>]]></description>
