I was furious at the people in power for taking advantage of the world we live in, feigning both innocence and ignorance when exposed to the effects of their desire for profits and wealth. Because of their desires, the entire planet is facing the consequences of their actions. Along with anger, I felt pity for not only our generation, but also the generations that would follow us. I believe that it is every generation's responsibility to preserve the world they live in for the next. The previous generation has failed this responsibility and as a result, we are experiencing its effects. If this continues, only the worst will welcome the following generations. Because of this realization, I felt even more empowered to help make a change. As one person, there is only little we can do for social change.
