The General Estates was made of three different estates. It was made of the First Estates and they had one percent of the population and they also had ten percent of land and didn't have to pay taxes. The Second estates also had ten percent of the population and they also don't need to pay taxes. Then the third estate had eight nine of the population of the population and they had to pay taxes. The issue the General Estates had was the third estates were the only one that had to pay taxes. And when it was time to vote the third estate would get voted out by the first and second estates. The National Assembly was the representation based on the population. The goal of the National Assembly was to give more power to the people. The upper estates wouldn't like this because they don't want them to get power or gain power and be controlled by anything. The third Estates created the Tennis Court Oath to free people from France. The Kings response was to establish a republic form of government.

The storm of Bastille happened because the people felt the King was taking over their rights. They also freed the political prisoners. The storm of Bastille leads them to gaining many weapons. People marched on the Palace of Versailles because they were angry at the overpriced bread. They also marched on the Palace because the queen was hoarding the wheat. They were also mad because they found out the queen was wasting too much money on parties and luxury things. This isn't justifiable because they had the right to be mad at the queen for spending money and not knowing how to spend it correctly. They also had rights to be mad about the bread because the queen was taking all the wheat and making the prices too high on bread. The Legislative Government was to keep the monarchy and the people happy and to share power. It fails because it never had a government without a monarchy. Robespierre is in charge of the Reign of Terror and The First Republic. The first goal was to support peoples rights.

The Directory is a government contained by the upper house and lower house. It operates by the lower house proposing legislative for the government. Then the upper house accepts or vetoes what was proposed by the lower house. The main struggle was the upper house had to decide about the proposal of the lower house. Napoleon contributes to political changes by simplifying the laws of France. He also eliminates the Estates System. He also allowed freedom of religion, restored the centralized government to France, and increased the education. The legacy Napoleon leaves behind is the France dominated continental Europe. Hes legacy was also he installed his own ruler of the nation and made his own brother king of Spain.
