What/who is the film about?
The challenges faced by Williams and how they could improve.

Who is your audience (what type of people would go to this film? Be specific!)
I hope my audience are fellow Formula 1 fans and find the same level of fascination with the dichotomy between the formula championship-level Williams and the staggering horrific seasons they've had since Juan Pablo Montoya left in 2004.

What is the important point this screenplay should make?
Williams can recover, but despite my patriotic spirit Williams should not have hired Logan Sargeant, and they certainly should never have let George Russell go... If they had better drivers they could certainly improve.

What do you want the audience to do and/or feel?
I want the audience to feel a sense of hope for my favorite F1 team.

Please describe a minimum of two characters using this guide.
ANDREW (AGE 17) Andrew is a young, somewhat awkward teenager trying to navigate his need for speed by watching others achieve the feats he dreams about. He often talks to his father who used to enjoy Formula 1 more than his son does now about the future of various teams and drivers that have piqued his interest over the course of a season. Of late, along with the rest of the world, he's idolized Max Verstappen's one-of-a-kind start to 2023, but also hopes to see Williams return on a strong foot for the remainder of the season following Alex Albon's strong 7th place at Canada.

MARK (AGE 50) Mark is the best dad anyone could ask for. He's reliable, steady going, and a father of four who, despite working 50-60 hours per week to provide for his whole family and a planned addition to the current house, still manages to find time to sit down with each of his children almost whenever they need or want to to talk or play games or whatever it may be. As a result of this, since his son Andrew discovered Formula 1 in 2023, he has since endured never-ending in-depth discussions on niche aspects of both the drivers themselves and the physics of the cars.

Why does this story matter to you? Why did you choose it?
This story matters to me because I love Formula 1, it's my favorite sport by far, and I want others to know about my favorite team and why it could certainly improve. I also chose it because I'm very interested to learn some more about the team in the process of writing the screenplay, as I don't know as much as I'd like, and although I do know a decent amount, it'd be more interesting to know more.

Why will your audience be interested in this?
My audience will be be interested in this because who doesn't find 1.6L V6 1000bhp rocket ships going around a track at 200+mph???

How will you grab their attention?

I plan to grab the audience's attention by opening with a montage of some of William's best moments and then another montage of how many points they've scored over the last 20 years if I'm allowed to (theoretically) use footage from outside sources. If that's not, and I don't expect it to be, then I'll make sure I'm consistently talking with variation in my voice (not boring everyone with monotone voice), using effective contrasts between huge numbers of points, speed, podiums, etc, in the 80s and 90s and between the team today. I'll make sure that I keep highlighting how crazy of a decline that Williams suffered starting from 1997 (or some might say 2004) to just today.

Similar to the style of juxtaposing cars from the former and modern eras, I can also juxtapose drivers from the former and modern eras. In style example 1, I explained that I can bring back some nostalgia in my audience with examples of legends like Juan Pablo Montoya, or Nigel Mansell, or Alain Prost. Then I can show hope for the future with one of my current favorites, Alex Albon, and include in my dialogue that while "The problem is..." (I will likely discuss funding, etc.), there is still a bright(er) future on the horizon with current drivers.

While in each of my other style examples I would have images or videos rolling across the screen, during the dialogue I would also ensure that I intersperse videos of me and my dad talking. I would make it interview style, since that's typically how our conversations about F1 go. My dad asks me questions about my thoughts since I like to talk about it, and I pretend that I know a lot more than I actually do in response! Of course, I'm not actually filming, but if I was I would definitely have some sort of face-to-face discussions.

For the intro to the Williams video, I would have something similar. I'd be swapping back and forth between establishing shots of me and my dad, establishing shots of old and modern Williams, getting closer and closer of each while introducing... "Williams. The greatest F1 team... of the 1980s." Kind of like I did with the bading on the "LS400... Coach Edition." Tongue and cheek, kinda. It'd get boring if I never injected a little humor or sarcasm.

Basically, I love Formula 1, and I love talking about things with an air of "I know everything," even when I really don't. So it'd be fun to work that tendency that I have into there. I'm like Andrew Schulz in this video, talking expressively even when I'm not an expert and just a passionate fan. I'm sorry for Joe Rogan dropping the F-Bomb, that's not the style I'm going for.
