In both versions of the novel, adoption is not a very accepted thing but later on they both seem to be okay with the idea and we can see this happening threw the colors in the graphic novel and the imagery in the novel itself. In the graphic novel the ideas are portrayed by the images and the colors used and the facial expressions and the angle of the images to show all the emotions and ideas that the actual novel can explain threw the words. While reading the graphic novel you can see from image one to the last image that the color scheme changes from duller and dark images to the very bright ending image. In the novel, diction and syntax is mostly used to express Amir's emotions and how he observes the emotions of others. Color is used to express the contrast of the "bright and happy world" Sohrab now lives on vs. his colorless appearance and the way he acts around others

He knows he can' t become a father the "natural" way, it doesn't matter to Amir which way he becomes a father, he just finds the concept of fatherhood enthralling.
In the novel, the chosen words paint a picture of how Amir and Soraya try their best to make Sorab's life colorful, and lively, but the one thing that is not so vibrant is Sohrab himself. The graphic novel gives images that Hosseini painted with words in the novel.
