At home we have a cat called Tigger, a dog called Molly, a leopard gecko called Coco, 2 tortoises called Rocky and Sheldon and a Californian corn snake called Scaley.

I recently took back up running! I am working hard to improve my fitness and would love to run the Plymouth Half Marathon one day

I facilitate our Step by Step groups, deliver our Solihull SEND parenting programme and offer 1:1 support for families within the home or community as part of our Outreach service.

I am also a Makaton tutor so watch this space for Makaton sessions being delivered soon.

A fact about me:

You will usually find me wearing some bright, fun designed clothing and my bright red hair. I have a son, 2 step children who are older and in our home we also have a cat called Kiti, A dog called Sully a hamster called Marble, a tank full of fish and a tank with a crab called midnight.

A fact about me: My favourite pizza is topped with - mushrooms, garlic, black olives, banana and blue cheese! It is epic, don’t knock it till you’ve tried. Banana has more right to be on pizza than pineapple!

However, we also understand that some families find these groups more difficult to navigate and want tailored groups and support for their children - this is what we have tried to develop.

Our sessions include …

• How do you know what you and your child are feeling?

• Tuning in to your child’s developmental needs.

• Having fun together- The importance of play.

• Self-regulation.

• Sleep and anger.

• Different styles of parenting.

• How to recover when things go wrong.

As well as many other areas.

We explore these areas by supporting parents to look at the world as your child may view it, with a very sensory approach, breaking down the senses and what being sensory means and how this in turn impacts on the session areas. From understanding this we can begin to develop a greater understanding of how your child develops while also supporting their complex needs and in turn create a more Intune parent/child relationship.
