The mischief escalated to assaulting random joggers, which eventually lead the police to aggressively arresting two of the young boys, Kevin and Raymond. They were taken to the Central Park precinct and held there for hours. Their children had been arrested for "unlawful assembly."

In the documentary "The Central Park Five" it shows the true nature of the police and the justice system in the 1989. 5 teens were wrongfully accused for a crime they were not even apart. All 5 boys were there the night of the incident, but in different sections of the area of where it occurred. Police were quick to assume it was all 5 of them for the fact that they were there when it happened They were all sentenced to 5-15 years in jail, losing all their opportunity's to be a teen and being forced to grow up to quick. The film achieved its main purpose of showing us the cruelty and injustice of the justice system and police diving deep into the investigation of the case, with interviews, images, and confessions. It showed us how the police handled things back in 1989, the race factor was involved in many ways, from the public, to the press writing horrible things about these innocent teens. So many flaws were revealed from this film, it was the wrong doing of the police and the detectives. Some were working behind the curtains to give the kids more time in jail and keep them there, without any chance of getting out.
