I also made the effort to insure she was looking beyond the lens, to capture a more natural feel. Her gaze makes this piece more captivating. The subject has an intense gaze, and I purposely darkened the background to accentuate the figure, which I had brightened up. The dark background contrasts nicely with the figure, which is composed of mainly light colors. There are diagonal lines, with the most notable one being her arm, which follows the same exact path as her sword as well. What I learned about myself is that, I tend to overthink to much. Stressing about what I should take a picture of and wanting it to look perfect every time made it hard for me to enjoy photography. Overtime I've learned to ease up. After practicing and doing all the photography projects I found myself paying closer attention to everything around me. I've learned to observe and admire my surroundings and found myself wanting to capture it through photography.

This picture was taken from my point of view on the roof of a building.(In downtown Lowell) The black and white filter used made the picture a lot more dramatic even though you can tell there's natural lighting. There's no specific focus so there are a lot of things you can notice while look at the picture. Beautiful moments will slip past you if you don't just go out and shoot. The timing and details of the rain, the person walking, and the ball, depict something so meaningful and intricate. I learned that I loved candid lifestyle photos that really aren't set up but moreso, fall into place naturally. This subject in the photo in the rain captures the true esence of life and the weather embodies a real rawness of nature. The ball really shows a childhood that is not explicitly shown and the reflections in the puddle create depth and impact to the scene as a whole. I took a lot of them, but never really had the opportunity to show them. This photo is a double exposure of the sunset and a self portrait of me. The gaze is to the side and completely away from the camera, seeing the subject's profile. The lighting highlights the eyes and under the chin. Even though artificial light was used, it is complimented well form the gradient sky. The focus is on the subject with the sunset as the background.
