The assessment mirrors the standards (skills) and knowledge we've been focusing on in class. I believe it will serve as a way for our students to showcase their understanding and growth.

The assessment did mirror the standards we have been hitting so far. I feel like the rigor for the MS English 1 exam was challenging. I still feel like 3 passages was a lot but I do understand the need to build their reading stamina. I feel like as long as teachers use the data to inform they will be helpful for the benchmark.

I think the assessment was a good wake-up call as to where we need to help our students. It was challenging for them to read so many paragraphs, which highlights why we need to really stay focused on the daily independent reading. They must develop their reading rigor!
