Our group DISAGREE with this topic.

"If humanity is to survive long-term, it must find a way to get off planet Earth -- and fast, according to famed astrophysicist", Stephen Hawking.

"It will be difficult enough to avoid disaster in the next hundred years, let alone the next thousand or million," Stephen Hawking said. "Our only chance of long-term survival is not to remain inward-looking on planet Earth, but to spread out into space."

New Technologies and Research:
  • Without space programs: not GPS
  • There’s also medical research happening in space right now.
  • Avoiding arising the evergrowing population.
  • Lead us into future conflict with beings who have superior technology.

Could Save the World:
- The strain on our natural resources continues to increase.
- Environmental damage and human exploitation.
- There’s a wealth of precious materials in space.
- Startups like Planetary Resources want to mine asteroids instead of Earth, which would mean an effectively unlimited supply of raw materials that are rare on Earth.
