My name is Steven Eckert. I recently moved back to Michigan from Raleigh, North Carolina where I have lived and worked for the past 20 yrs. I am returning to LCC to finish my education after leaving many years ago to travel. I have been a people leader in various positions for the majority of my career, however, most recently I was a Financial Business Consultant for BCBSNC. 

I have returned to complete my degree, which is the only regret I have ever had over the years. I have been very lucky to have had an amazing career and many opportunities offered to me that would have normally required a degree. Well, now I am taking a step backwards for a couple years and taking a work sabbatical off to finish something I started 31 years ago. I have made many sacrifices and adjusted life in many ways to return to school, but I am so happy to be here and following my dream! 

Ultimately, I will have my BS in Organizational Psychology, which in my opinion will soon become a hot new job market! I am hoping to do a 3/1 program here at LCC. I will need to lock into my final plan Fall term. I am looking forward to this class and I hope that I will have something to offer that may be unique and beneficial to the class! 

 

My name is Nick Battjes. I live in Fowlerville and attend my courses at the LIVCEN center. I attended Michigan Technological University for a year after graduating high school. I returned home after I realized I was not interested in the program I was entered in there and did not know what I wanted to do. I enrolled here at LCC hoping to find a new goal for myself while continuing school. I have plans for further schooling after LCC but am very indecisive and sadly still have not picked a career path.

 

I am lucky to have a job I enjoy working as a manager for an Adidas retail store. I spend the majority of my time working but I enjoy it. Although I do not know if I plan on working in business I enjoy the work I do now. I took this course thinking it could be helpful for my current job and help me gain further insight into business and if it is something I am further interested in studying.

 

I enjoy being active and outdoors all year long. One of my favorite hobbies is snowboarding. I’m not the best or able to do cool tricks but I enjoy getting fresh air and outdoor activity in the winter, I find it relaxing. Another one of my favorite activities is the yearly Tough Mudder event I run with my dad. Less active things I enjoy include movies, video games, and my favorite books. 

I’m Eli Clinger, I am a full-time business student at Lansing Community College, I live in the Lansing area. I’m 18 years old, I work at a Discount Tire by my house. I enjoying watching college and pro football, listening to music (mainly rap and hip hop), watching Netflix, and hanging out with friends. I’m looking forward to learning how to better manage my time and be more efficient from this course.  

I love animals and I have had many kinds in my life. I always like to have a dog for a companion.

I’m working on a couple of degrees right now; my main interest is in psychology.

This course has always interested me and I hope that I can improve my time management.

I’m taking this course because it is required for my degree and I enjoy having Dr. Swchinn in my organization behavior course. My previous classmates and I made many jokes about this course and now I’m in it. Karma. 

During the little spare time that I have is spent with my handsome five year old son. Being a mom is a full time job in and of itself but being his mommy makes it easy, I enjoy every single minute of every single day with him. 

I currently work at Eaton County Transportation Authority, dealing with difficult people is a daily occurrence. Ive learned other many years in customer service that patience is key.

4 years after HS i was in a horrible car accident and broke my collar bone and fractured my skull so I had a bleed on he brain. So that happened at 23 when i was in my freshman year in college. Well something that killing millions of people in this country alone almost had a new statistic. I became hooked on my Oxycontin. No one every told me before that this stuff is basically the most addicting drug in the world and is basically heroin but just in pill form, sometime i always though growing up i would NEVER of dreamed to do heroin but there i was, a 29 year old junkie you could say. but today is a good day, im sober, have a job, and buying a new car next month.dont judge, consider your self one of the lucky ones, because i used to laugh at those type of people, drug addicts begging for money, stealing, etc.. luckily i had family to support me or who knows they could a kept me out of prison with the way my life was going.  One day at a time       - 847 days sober
