Since Charlotte has changed a lot, I think she might enjoy the maximum ride series because it's really interesting and overall fun to read. I think they might be similar because they both witness many types of tragedies and drama.
    The moments of this book series that reminded me of charlotte was when she was ignorant towards people, because the main character can be kind of bossy and snobbish.  
    Maximum Ride and her siblings usually have to survive dangerous and risky situations.

But Magnus has a few friends while being on the streets a deaf and very mature set of friends, just like how Charlotte has Zachriah. 
Charlotte should also read this book because there's a lot of mystery and interest that she could correspond with. Because Magnus is not just some 16 year old that lives on the streets he is actually an immediate descendant of a Greek god. The same way as Charlotte is not some happy girl sailing to America, she is  now a warrior, an enemy and currently a suspect of murder...

Charlotte would obviously benefit from this to avoid the sabotages and betrayals. This would teach her the actual side of life. I think she would also benefit because her story matches Katniss. They both were banished into extreme environments.
