Religion and culture lead the Persian Empire to success with Zoroaster, art, and language.
Zoroaster
Cyrus the Great, a king from the Persian empire, brought the Zoroaster religion to the Persian Empire (“Persian empire”). He ruled by the Zoroaster law of Asha meaning truth and righteousness. When they concurred land Cyrus the great was not able to spread the religion to their new territory but this did not stop the Persian empire because it still stood their main religion and was a big part in their civilization. Zoroaster believed that people were training for future life. He taught that the earth was separated by good and evil. They believed that humans would have to choose between the final judgment when good would triumph over evil. Zoroaster's symbol was fire and water that showed their love in the earth. When someone had died they would put them in sky burials. They built circular flat-topped towers called dakhmas also called the towers of silence. Their corps was exposed until their bones were picked clean and bleached ("Zoroastrianism."). From what the Zoroaster religion believed in and how they showed becomes a big part of The Persian Empire Civilization. It leads how people act, talk and it even became laws. The Persian Empire religion was a big part of there civilization and help them become the greatest civilization.
Art
Art in the Persian empire showed of their advancement culture that included architecture, painting, weaving, pottery, calligraphy, metalworking and sculpture. Early in the Persian empire, the art tended to be small and portable objects such as things like ceramics and small bronze sculpture (“Persian empire”). One of the largest categories was weaving carpets. Carpets usually showed colorful designs in the displays. The designs are taken from their mood from daily life, but geography could have made an influence as well. Even prayer could have come into their designs. Most of the designs came from the gardens of the Persian empire. The architectural was strongly influenced by buildings throughout the Islamic world, especially in Central Asia (Davidson). They copied subjects from nature that turned into patterns to decorate. Parsia included a complex of structures built from limestone. Built-in limestone, it featured a series of figures in relief (“Persian empire”). Though that was not all the great things about the art in Persia, everything that was a part of the Persian art was very advanced and shows how successful and strong the Persian empire was.
Language
The Persian empire language is divided into two categories that included the old Persia and middle Persia. Old Persia was spoken until the 3rd century BCE and is by numerous inscriptions written in cuneiform. The middle ages spoke from the 3rd century BCE to the 9th century CE. There is also varied literature in Middle Persian embracing both the Zoroastrian and the Manichaean religious traditions. Pahlavi was the name of the Middle Persian language ("Persia."). The Persian empire had also concorded so much territory that it was hard to have one language within the civilization because of how big it had become and with all the other people of civilizations that they had conquered (“Persian empire”). Overall the language in the Persian empire allowed them to communicate and create success for the Persian Empire.

Technology and education played an important part in the Persian Empire. Whether through their schooling, leaders, or inventions they showed advancement were a huge success in the Persian Empire.
King Cyrus
King Cyrus was the person that decided to expand the boundaries of Persia. He began by conquering Babylon. Cyrus was known for his mercy rather than his cruelty. Cyrus allowed the Hebrews to continue living and worshiping as they chose. He and his successors employed a policy of adaptation toward all of their new subjects. That included all there new advancements like inventions. They respected local traditions and even adopted some of their subjects' religious practices for themselves. Laws were carried out fairly among all of the various subject peoples (Davidson). This shows the equality that the Persians were giving. Cyrus built the foundations of a courier, or mail, system. Cyrus brought also developed a religion based on monotheism, the belief in one god. It was founded by the prophet Zoroaster.
Darius I
Darius I built a communication network that connected most of the empire. The royal road was built from Sardis to Susa, one of the main capitals. Along this road, were numerous places for lodging, where royal couriers could obtain horses and supplies. He was noted for his administrative genius and for his great building projects. Darius first circulated the coin system using gold and silver. This made it eaiser to sell goods, trade and made life easier in the Persian Empire (Davidson). All the kings played an important role in the Persian Empire giving new inventions and showing off the advanced knowledge.
Creations
The Persian empire created many things that showed off their technology and what separated them from other civilizations. The Persian empire created the yakhchal which means “ice”. These are ancient refrigerators that were mainly built and used in Persia. The Persians were good in their technique of building and using the yakhchal. The structures were above the ground and were dome-shaped and had big amounts of storage space. The battery was a great invention towards the Persian empire. The battery was a ceramic pot, a metal tube, and a rod of a different metal was used to create the Baghdad Battery (Davidson). This could also be known as the Parthian Battery. Sulfuric acid was created by the Persians. It was not just an important discovery back then, but also is a big part of our modern day life. Today it is used to make many substances from fertilizers to make detergents this has impacted our lives. Finally, the alphabet that the Persians invented was very helpful to their civilization. The old Persian language developed during the early history of this dynasty, and it is not a direct offshoot of the Sumerian and Akkadian systems ("Persia."). This allowed them to communicate in letters, during trade, but also in their daily lives. This is not all that they created but everything that did help expand their knowledge and even help us to this day.

Trade and economy allowed the Persian empire to spread their territory, have a stable food supply, and to get and trade goods. This allowed them to become a stronger and bigger civilization which led to becoming the greatest civilization of all time.
Trade
The Persians worked to increase trade throughout their kingdom. The main part of their trade was their roads. The system of roads that served their trade system also helped with their military. The Persian Empire had an extensive road system of trade routes, and the roads were there to encourage trade (Davidson). The Persians created Royal Road and it was an ancient highway. It was rebuilt by the Persian king Darius the Great. The Royal Road allowed messages, soldiers, and mail to be sent quickly across the empire. It also was a big help trade for them to travel on to get from place to place to trade (“Persian empire”). The trade route was a project started by the Egyptians that King Darius completed. This meant that the Egyptians were not able to take the challenge but Persia was showing that they were a better civilization. Also, King Darius first circulated the coin system using gold and silver. This allowed the Persians to have a more organized trade system by adding coins. Precious jewels and gemstones were often brought to Persia by the Silk Route (“Persian empire”). The Persians traded many food projects as well as some of their art. Trade was very important to the Persians because it got them their goods and allowed them to show their advanced success in their trade routes.
Stable food supply
The Persian Empire had arid climate and the Persians developed an irrigation system to help with this climate. They built underground canals. These irrigation tunnels were several kilometers long. They were slightly tilted so it could move the water (Davidson). Much money was invested in this to develop farming for food and trading resources. Much wealth came from there prolific crops. This was great for trade but also as a main food source in their civilization (“Persian empire”). Barley was also the main cereal stable being easily grown. This also helped with trade and was a major food source. Persian farmers grew wheat, barley, olives, and wine. They raised cattle, goats, and sheep. Hunting and fishing were also an important source of food. The early Persian economy was based on herding because the land was extremely poor for practicing agriculture ("Persia.").
Land and homes

The land in the Persian Empire was surrounded by high mountains and the fertile lands. This allowed them to find livestock on the slopes and the valleys of these mountains. That was perfect for hunting. To the West was the valleys of the Tigris and Euphrates. To the East was the Indus River Valley. To the North was the Caspian Sea and Turkestan. To the South were the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean (“Persian empire”). The water and land in Persia were great for transportation but made it harder for farming. Rich Persians lived in palaces of timber, stone, and brick. They had comfortable types of furniture such as beds, couches, and chairs. Tables were overlaid with gold, silver, and ivory. Rich people in the Persian empire also had beautiful gardens. For the ordinary people in Persia, got to live in simple huts made from mud brick. If they were well off they might live in a house of several rooms arranged around a courtyard. However poor people lived in huts of just one room. Any furniture for the poor was very basic (Davidson). Even though they were different, the lives of wealthy and poor in the Persian empire it was a great place for everyone. Knowing that people were happy and wanting to be in the Persian Empire proves that it was the greatest civilization if people wanted to be there instead of any other civilization.

The Persian Empire was so big that they struggled in government although they were very successful in their military and organization, they struggled with their leadership and uniting as one in a civilization.
Leadership
The Persian Empire was ruled by one king. But underneath the King was several regions ruled by a satrap. There were around 20 different regions in order to keep one region becoming too powerful. Satraps would work for the king enforcing laws and order but also to collect taxes and tributes (Davidson). This was successful at some points but also caused breaks in their civilization because of the tension that formed in the kings and satrap for power and leadership. The Persian kings did not trust the satraps. The kings even hired spies to watch over the satraps to make sure they were not stealing taxes and tributes (“Persian empire”). Sometimes the satraps became so powerful that they would go against the king creating sides in the Persian empire that would lead to wars against each other and many leadership and power issues. This caused too many issues in the Persian Government.
Uniting as one civilization
The Persian Empire was such a big civilization that it was hard for Persia to become one. The Persian empire was so powerful and such a strong civilization that they were able to spread from Greece to India during time ruled by Achaemenids with king Darrius (“Persian empire”). The main part of the land was government because of them concurring their neighbors. Soldiers were given some of this land. People were everywhere on the Persian Empire territory making it hard to spread Persian main language, the religion, law, and other big things that could be happening (Davidson). Having different sections could create differences. That would lead people to disagree and not have peace which could lead to violence. As a result of that, the Persian Empire would come to weak allowing it to be an easy target to other civilization.

Though the Persian empire struggled in their education with woman rights and what they focused on teaching any schooling could help the Persian empire.
Education
There is very little information in the children during their schooling and most of their education (Davidson). We do know that they had schooling though. It may be possible that the boys were learning Persian cuneiform script, which was probably known only to a few scribes. Most of the nobles and highly placed Persian civil servants their writing played part in standard Persian education. It is told that the Persian boys were not allowed to see their fathers until the age of five years. Until then they lived among their mothers. From ages five to twenty years they were trained in horsemanship, swordsmanship, archery, and telling the truth. Persians said that lying was the worst thing that you could do and showed the mark of manliness. People say at age of sixteen or seventeen years the sons of Persian nobles were brought up at the royal court, practicing riding, archery, throwing the spear, and hunting. Education was only for boys. Reading and writing, as well as some grammar, mathematics, and astronomy, were taught in scribal schools (“Persian empire”). There is very little information on education, but the evidence for Babylonia and Egypt, where traditional educational systems continued under Persian rule.
Women rights in education
Although women and girls were highly respected in the Persian empire they could not go to school. The schooling was only for boys. The women could take leadership in the Persian empire but men came first to rule. Parents would encourage their offspring to tread the path of knowledge and explain that women have an equal responsibility in the spread of education (“Persian empire”). Though they were taught, girls were still not allowed to go to school. Knowing that they could not go to school does not mean they did not have any education. They could be taught at home or be taught other things than what the boys were being taught.
