1. Demostrar competencia comunicativa a través de situaciones de interés académico, social y/o cultural utilizando elementos estratégicos, discursivos, sociolingüísticos y gramaticales.
2. Conocer los aspectos lingüísticos del inglés, reconocer la naturaleza cambiante del idioma y satisfacer las inquietudes dadas en este proceso a través de su propio aprendizaje.
3. Reconocer el rol y el valor de los textos literarios y usarlos para interpretar y reflexionar acerca de las perspectivas de nuestra cultura y otras.
4. Entender los niveles de desarrollo de la adquisición del idioma y usar ese conocimiento para crear un ambiente de apoyo en el aula que incluya una interacción significativa de oportunidades para negociar el significado.
5. Aplicar las metas curriculares para evaluar, seleccionar, diseñar y adaptar recursos pedagógicos.
6. Mantener relaciones de intercambio y colaboración haciendo uso del    idioma inglés en situaciones temáticas y contextos diversos.

Pronunciation is usually left at the bottom of the list. Even if students’ grammar and vocabulary are strong, if their pronunciation isn’t easy to understand, their communication will fail. Teaching pronunciation is a great challenge, but not impossible. It is clear that pronunciation is essential for teaching/learning a language in order to be understandable. As teachers, we must teach pronunication our students. Even if students’ grammar and vocabulary are strong, if their pronunciation isn’t easy to understand, their communication will fail.

Teaching pronunciation is challenging, but not impossible.

Although it is difficult to know when to interrupt and how often to interrupt if pronunciation errors occur, it is extremely important to use a good balance of error correction when teaching less confident students so that they do not feel too self-conscious.
