Nevertheless, it comes with a few disadvantages. Here's some of them that I noticed:

  • the user interface feels dated

  • Setting up projects and managing resources (like TMs and glossaries) can be confusing at first, as OmegaT doesn’t guide the user as much as other tools do (such as MemoQ).


    However, if a user is willing to invest sufficient time with this tool, it can be very useful. Although I wouldn't recommend it for beginners.
