High school and college students can also earn college credit by taking a CLEP exam.  To successfully pass the test and earn college credit, students should have prior knowledge of the subject area through a high school class or independent study. There are more than 2,900 colleges and universities that grant college credit for passing grades on exams. There can be a limit to the amount of CLEP credits awarded so always check with your college or university before taking the test. Refer to the College Board CLEP Test Site CLEP Benefits for Everyone – CLEP | College Boardor full details regarding the credit policy at your college,  testing location and test taking tips.  There is a cost for each exam. Testing center may also charge an administrative fee.

Students commit to:

• Maintain a 3.4 or greater GPA

• Cumulative attendance at 95% or greater 

• Submit at least 100 hours of community service* before April 1st of their senior year
  

Students who fulfill all program requirements are considered IMPACT Scholars and receive additional honors at graduation including letters of recommendation and an honor cord to wear with their cap and gown. 

They are also eligible to apply for a CEF IMPACT Scholarship.

Official High School Transcripts are ordered  through Parchment . 

Some colleges will request an official transcript in order to make an admissions decision.

You must request to have your final transcript sent to the college that you choose at the end of your Senior year.

Plan Ahead: Start by checking application deadlines. Ask your recommender if they would be willing to write a letter for you at least 4 weeks in advance. Remember... Teachers, Counselors, and Staff members do not work over the 2-week holiday breaks. Please plan accordingly. 

Provide your recommender with the name of the college or scholarship; the platform on which you need the letter (paper/e-mail/fax); the deadline that your submission is due; and an “all about me” form.

Don't forget to write your Recommender a Thank You note. Let them know how they have impacted your high school experience, learning, and/or future plans. 

The PSAT taken in your junior year is the National Merit Qualifying Test for National Scholar status. It is a great idea to take the test your sophomore year as practice.

This scholarship is to support those students who have done all they can to support themselves but still need additional financial assistance. It is for those who have made significant achievements despite overwhelming adversity in their lives. It’s for those who have pursued continuous improvement and looking to add value to society, despite facing uncommon challenges for their age.

The scholarship is worth $1-3K with additional funding available depending on the student applicants’ unique circumstances [need, effort, program type, program length, etc.]. Funding is made possible through the generous donations received from the Valley Guardians and its supporters.

This program will not only be free for you, but will allow to explore multiple union opportunities and complete 3 certifications. Upon completion, you will receive interviews and a stipend to pay for boots/tools.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Be a high school senior, high school graduate or have a GED equivalent.

• Plan to enroll, or be enrolled within 1 year, in an approved trade-related program at an accredited two-year school or institution (i.e. technical/vocational school, community college or training center) in the United States.

• Not be an employee or dependent of an employee of the The Home Depot. Employees of The Home Depot and their dependents are eligible to apply for a scholarship from The Homer Fund. 

• Programs/Career Paths: Carpentry, Construction Management, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing.

Application Deadlines & Announcements

• Last day of March, June, September and December.

• Winners will be notified approximately 4-6 weeks after the application deadline.

• Scholarships must be used within 1 year of acceptance.

• Awards are paid directly to recipient's school or training center.

• Are an Arizona resident

• Are a current graduating senior attending a public, private, charter, or home school

• Will be a first-generation college student (neither parent, stepparent, or legal guardian holds a four-year degree from any country)

• Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA (weighted or unweighted)

• Have a minimum test score of 1110 SAT, 22 ACT, or 72 CLT

• Plan to attend ASU-Tempe, NAU-Flagstaff, UA-Tucson

• Agree to live in on-campus housing during freshman and sophomore year

The Live Like Syd Initiative Scholarship should serve to encourage the advancement of women in science, reflecting the mission of The Sydelia Orr Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Ten (10) awards of $1,600

opportunities to women pursuing a certificate or degree to advance their careers, change

careers, or enter/reenter the workforce.

The Nina Scholars program serves students who meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Is an adult who has one or more dependents in their household

Arizona Elk Society offers three scholarships each year to students who demonstrate a commitment to wildlife, conservation, and the outdoors.
